Senior Piping Designer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting Senior Piping Designers to support the execution phase of the bp Murlach Project. <br><br>Main duties: <br><ul><li> Provide Piping Design Expertise </li><li> Provide input to piping and layout studies </li><li> Define piping design requirements for technical scopes </li><li> Development of deliverables and documentation required for use in offshore work-packs and in the supply chain </li><li> Support the development of and / or develop requisitions for the procurement of piping related material and equipment </li><li> Undertake design checking of piping deliverables </li><li> Provide support to the Lead Piping Engineer and the project delivery team </li><li> Provide piping design technical expertise to the project </li><li> Resolve piping related design issues by applying accepted principles, codes and standards </li><li> Adhere to procedures to assure technical integrity of piping designs </li><li> Provide support for inter-discipline considerations through attendance at required design reviews and undertaking inter- discipline checking </li><li> Maintain own knowledge and understanding to meet competence requirements of Senior Piping Designer </li><li> Provide feedback on lessons learnt to aide in continuous improvement </li></ul><br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br>Qualifications: <br><ul><li> Minimum ISCED level 5 short-cycle tertiary education in engineering discipline </li></ul><br> Knowledge, skills and experience: <br><ul><li> A full understanding of the materials and methods normally used in their discipline </li><li> An understanding of related engineering principles and practices, plus training and diversified experience in the field of activity is required </li><li> Capable of interpreting key documents including; engineering standards, piping material specifications, P&IDs and Line Lists </li><li> Technically oriented, mechanically inclined, good at mathematics and talented at translating intangible concepts into hands-on project plans </li><li> Competent user of CAD / D software </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
