<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently seeking a <b>Planner </b>in order to grow its Brisbane Minerals & Metals group. <br><br>Wood is at the forefront of engineering solutions for a net zero future. A key component of decarbonising the world is the Minerals and Metals Industry which supplies the critical minerals required for this revolution. Wood is currently delivering critical metals projects (Battery and Magnet metals) all over the world, including Copper, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals projects. <br><br>We can offer you a career in the ever-expanding battery and magnet metals industry driving the decarbonisation of the globe. This will be a full time position based in our Brisbane office. <br><br>As a key member of the team, duties will include (but not solely limited to): <br><ul><li> Develop and maintain planning control structures are developed and maintained in alignment with approved project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)<br> </li><li> Develop and maintain baseline project plans and schedules using appropriate scheduling software<br> </li><li> Monitor and control planning activities through all phases of project lifecycle<br> </li><li> Liaise with engineering, procurement and construction functions, and others as required, including third parties, to maintain awareness of project activities, the status, and the impact on the project schedule and resourcing requirements<br> </li><li> Prepare and provide copies of project plans and schedules in accordance with project reporting requirements<br> </li><li> Prepare and provide copies of project progress and performance status reports in accordance with project reporting requirements<br> </li><li> Produce and issue updates to project plans and schedules<br> </li><li> Produce and issue updates to project resourcing requirements<br> </li><li> Assess and communicate schedule impact of change notifications<br> </li><li> Monitor overall project progress status, achievement of major milestones, and evaluate project performance in relation to planned performance<br> </li><li> Attend internal project progress and performance status meetings as required<br> </li><li> Liaise with cost discipline to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets and ensure that the impact of all change requests are properly assessed and included in the schedules<br> </li><li> Participate in schedule risk analysis as required<br> </li><li> Participate in Project Controls Compliance and Continuous Improvement Reviews </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br>What will set you apart from other applicants will be your previous experience in an engineering company. You will be a super user of Pri mavera P6, and have experience on a major mining project. You will also have: <br><ul><li> A minimum 4 years relevant scheduling/planning experience within the mining industry </li><li> Proficient knowledge of Project Execution Procedures for Scheduling </li><li> Proficient understanding of WBS & CBS structures and project reporting capabilities </li><li> Ability to develop project schedules and plans </li><li> Ability to prepare resource loading, progress and staffing plans </li><li> Ability to work independently and as part of a team </li><li> Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast paced environment </li><li> Uses initiative, experience and a proactive approach to problem solving </li><li> Commitment to continuous improvement </li><li> Demonstrates effective organisation & project planning skills </li></ul><br><br>Please note, only applicants holding valid working rights in Australia will be considered. <br><br>So much of our success depends on feeling part of a team with people around us that we can rely on.
