Quality Engineer - Supervisor

êton’s Las Piedras PR is currently seeking for a Quality Engineer - Supervisor to join our team. PRIMARY FUNCTION: Supervises and coordinates activities of their direct reports by enforcing the compliance to policies, procedures, and activities to ensure quality of the product. Works in alignment with other department managers and supervisory personnel in order to meet and maintain product quality, identify, solve and prevent problems affecting product quality, maximize productivity, and comply with regulatory requirements. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Supervises and directs assigned quality personnel who is responsible for enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices and other quality-related policies in order to meet product quality standards. Maintains company quality standards per ISO 9001-2015 requirements. Audits quality control of raw materials, packaging components, labels, and finished products to ensure compliance with established specifications. Oversee the “On Hold” product program, including the status and release, of “On Hold” products. Assist in investigating and correcting quality-related issues (including customer complaints) through collaboration with other departments. Make proactive recommendations and offering/presenting solutions to the Quality Systems to improve quality and work efficiency. Share knowledge, skills and information with other personnel in the Production Department and across functional areas. Assist in the implementation of policies, operating procedures, quality systems and programs which ensure proper testing, evaluation, inspection, and technical support in order to meet product quality standards. Participate in all regulatory, third party and customer audits and inspections, and corrective action response. Ensure good performance by quality assurance inspectors, technicians by mentoring, training, setting expectations, providing accountability, and performing evaluations. LI-DS1 Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in science of Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial). Minimum Experience: At least 2 years of experience in Engineering and expertise in Manufacturing quality process, preferably electronics in a people leader or supervisory position. Problem Solving Techniques Quality Assurance Lean / Six Sigma, preferable Statistics and Design of Experiment Project Management Communication Skills Process Improvement Techniques Organizational Skills Computer Knowledge CAD/CAM software (AutoCad, SolidWorks BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Technical understanding of manufactured products Knowledge of standards such as: ISO 9001:2015 Knowledge of materials procedures Quality problems (parts and process) Machinery or equipment shutdown Material handling Rejection of materials Preferred Qualifications Increase plant – operating efficiency (Productivity & Quality) Complete Projects and document cost savings and completion schedules Initiate actions to prevent product non-conformance Complies with Deviation procedure Complies with monthly sales goal Focus on Customer satisfaction (Fill Rate, Stock Performance, Information Fill Rate, Non-Stock Performance) Reduce Scrap Improve quality and productivity Improve cost Comply with safety and security requirements, policies and regulations.
