Senior Manager Finance, Sphere Venue Ops

Who are we hiring? The Senior Finance Manager is responsible for FP&A functions supporting/overseeing Core Entertainments Venue Operations group across all MSG Venues and MSG Las Vegas Sphere (as we prepare to open in the 2nd quarter of FY24). The current annual operating plans for both Divisions are approximately $100m & $175m respectfully. The responsibilities include preparation of the annual budget, monthly forecasts, as well as month end reporting & analysis for operating and Capital expenses. The Senior Finance Manager will work closely with the Venue Operations teams for each respective area to ensure all material variances are known and reported on a monthly management reporting package, as well as establishing FP&A process for Las Vegas Sphere, to ensure consistency with base business. What will you do? • Setup up MSG Sphere entity/department combinations and appropriate rollups/hierarchy to build out Sphere Venue P&L’s. Partner with 3rd party procurement agent & Accounting team to ensure accurate tracking and recoding of ~$60m in FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment). • Familiarize Sphere Venue Operations team with financial reporting packages and deliverables for Operating, Capital expenses and Headcount. • Preparation/oversight of monthly forecasts, annual budget, and Long-Range Plan for all MSG Venues including MSG Sphere. • Prepare month end reporting variance analysis and present results to EVP’s, GM’s & department heads, as well as consolidate total Venue Operations CFO package for MSGE & MSG Sphere. • Maintain in real time full time administrative compensation planning model and reporting for Sphere Venue Operations. • Analyze and track Venue labor, to ensure event related wages & benefits are charged out appropriately for all venues. • Oversee & develop Staff Member who will be responsible for the following Areas: Beacon & Chicago Theaters, Knicks & Rangers Day of Game, Office Services Financial Planning & Analysis, Food & Merch post event flash reports for all events at all Venues as well as preparing event/project estimates for Teams, & Corporate special events. • Other responsibilities include supporting the Operations teams with day-to-day financial requests, including ad hoc analyses, approving purchase orders, providing coding, etc. • Prepare union cost outs to for SVP of Legal during negotiations. • Collaborate with Data & Analytics team to continually enhance the Venues reporting process as well as overall operations. What do you need to succeed? • BS in Business/Accounting/Finance or related field, MBA a plus. • Prior Financial Accounting & Financial planning background required. • 6+ years’ experience in Finance/Accounting, preferably in financial analysis and budgeting in the Entertainment or Sports industry. • Knowledge of facilities finance which includes Union/Part time labor, rent & property tax, utilities, repairs & maintenance. • Strong systems/software knowledge, systems currently utilized by MSG, Excel, Oracle GL, Oracle planning (Hyperion), Tableau.
