If you're looking for a career in youth work then this opportunity is not to be missed.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The school is situated in Surrey and supports boys aged 10-19 who have a range of additional needs associated with social, emotional mental health challenges. It's a small school that offers a restorative, therapeutic approach to education and behaviour management. As a learning support assistant you will be working in classes of 4-6 pupils with a staff to student ratio of 1:1. The school has recently been graded as 'good' in key categories such as leadership and management and behaviour.</p><p> </p><p>What is involved:</p><p> </p><p> * Providing assistance and supervision for students before, during and after lessons</p><p> * Assisting students to understand and participate in set tasks in an appropriate way</p><p> * Assisting with note taking and supporting literacy and numeracy</p><p> * Working with a class, a small group or individual learners</p><p> * Encouraging the development of appropriate social skills</p><p> * To ensure accurate individual student records are maintained</p><p> * Helping to build confidence and motivation</p><p> * Participating in team meetings and training programmes as an active member of a team</p><p> * Working with managers and employees to support the developing culture of the organisation</p><p> * Following regulations pertaining to safeguarding</p><p> </p><p>What is required:</p><p> </p><p> * An Undergraduate Degree (preferable) and/or previous SEN experience</p><p> * Good general education levels in English and Maths</p><p> * Knowledge, keen interest or understanding of the range of different types of learning and behavioural needs (SEMH, PRU)</p><p> * Ability to adapt to a various working environments and students with differing abilities and unpredictable behaviour</p><p> * A co-operative working style</p><p> * Good interpersonal and communication skills</p><p> * A caring attitude and a good listener</p><p> * Flexibility in terms of working patterns</p><p> </p><p>Summary:</p><p> </p><p> * Youth worker - SEN LSA - SEMH - Graduate Learner Support Assistant - Teaching Assistant</p><p> * £85 to £90 daily rate (5-day week)</p><p> * Special Educational Needs</p><p> </p><img src="https://counter.adcourier.com/b2xpdmlhLnNob3J0LjE4MzM5LjQzOUBhY2FkZW1pY3NsdGQuYXBsaXRyYWsuY29t.gif" rel="no-follow" />
