Commodity Insights The Role: QA Engineer The Team: Join a brand-new Agile team of research scientists, software developers, DevOps and QA engineers, to build cloud-based data science products for North American oil and gas markets. The team is part of the Commodity Insights division of S&P Global. We have a people-first culture and pride ourselves on our agility, flexibility, and diversity. The Impact: The project focuses on greenhouse gas emissions of North American oil wells which are becoming increasingly interested by the next generation of energy investors. As part of the team, you will help deliver high quality emission data and analysis using state-of-the-art algorithms and technologies to meet the market demand. What’s in it for you: • Help shape our future architecture and technology choices • Work in a collaborative and supportive environment • Work with an international team with diverse culture • The flexibility to work remotely or in office Responsibilities: • Excellent knowledge of Agile software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and testing tools. • Proactive self-starter with a keen eye for details with focus on end-user experiences and ability to go above and beyond to ensure a high-quality release. • Experience developing detailed test plans, assessing risks, filing detailed defect reports, and providing relevant data for test reporting. • Experience testing large technology stacks with many software services components. • Ability to drive cross-functional communications, understanding dependencies while also ensuring a tight timeline can be maintained. • Experience learning new tools/technologies and using UNIX Shell / command-line tools. What We’re Looking For: Key skills: 1. 3+ years’ strong experience in creating test plans, regression tests, functional tests, stress tests 2. Experience of software QA metrics, operations, and statistical techniques. 3. Experience of writing SQL queries and procedures for data testing 4. Experience in testing large data processing and schema change deployment (Snowflake) 5. Detail oriented, analytical, and creative thinker with passion for quality processes. 6. Fluency in English and Polish – spoken and written Nice to have skills: 1. Experience of scripting languages (e.g. Python) 2. Experience of test automation tools (e.g. Visual Studio) 3. Experience in driving development and deployment of relevant testing tools and infrastructure.
