Chenega Professional & Technical Services, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services’ company, is looking for a Mainframe System Administrator - Team Lead. The Mainframe Administrator, sometimes referred to as Mainframe Programmer, will support a Federal Shared Services Program in a Lead role to analyze, design, install, implement, configure, and tune large-scale IBM z/OS, z/Linux, and/or z/VM systems including both mono-plex and sysplex landscapes. Responsibilities Effectively perform as a Lead in a small team environment, interfacing within the team and customer management to plan, execute, monitor, and report work activities. Possess extensive experience with IBM mainframe operating systems, including MVS and z/OS. The qualified candidate will function as a lead z/OS Systems Administrator/Programmer. Perform as a z/OS mainframe administrator: configuring maintaining and supporting z/OS Operating System Environments. Utilize SMP/E for vendor product and system OS maintenance. Interacts with technology teams such as Computer Operations and Data Base Administrators. Utilize knowledge of TCP/IP and SNA/VTAM architecture for networking support. Work with Security personnel to help define and configure RACF security rules for dataset and other resource definitions. Configures and administers controls and policies for automation products that run in the z/OS environment. Provides to federal staff for audit interviews. Utilizes automation, tooling, reports, utilities, and batch programs necessary to minimize manual activities and provide meaningful audit and management reporting. Troubleshoots and tracks problem and incident tickets, with vendors and clients. When required, perform scheduled weekend work, Disaster Recovery (DR) tests and participate in a shared on-call duty rotation for off-hours technical support. Other duties as assigned Qualifications A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred and a minimum of eight years’ experience. Five (5) years as a z/OS administrator/programmer on z/OS 2.2 or higher Proficient in using SMP/E Proficient in using IBM utilities – IEBGENER, IEBCOPY, and IDCAMS Experience with ISPF and SDSF Familiarity with Operator Commands Experience working within a complex mainframe environment, including: installing, tuning, testing, networking, SAN fiber connectivity and data storage concepts, virtual tape concepts, current data storage and backup technologies, and debugging DB software.
