Senior Buyer-Direct Procurement

Overview We are adding to our Global Procurement team in Cork and looking to hire an experienced Senior Buyer over direct procurement. The Global Procurement Sr Buyer supports the Beverage Ingredients Procurement for PepsiCo Global Concentrate Solutions. This role will report into the Senior Manager for Citrates and Hydrocolloids. We work with over 450 strategic suppliers globally to ensure we have what we need, when we need it. The goods and services we use can range from the core ingredients in our beverages and snack seasonings to our partnerships with the logistics companies we use to ship our products all over the world – that's where our Procurement department comes in. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities End to end management for several Ingredient Categories and Supplier Accounts, including price negotiations, contracting, surety of supply, financial analysis, industry position, KPIs, Annual Business Reviews Perform in depth analysis for category spend including understanding supply sources, supplier capability, industry economics, designs and technology, pricing, and duty/freight barriers. Accountable for development and implementation of optimal strategic sourcing strategies for the category in consultation with the Ingredients Senior Manager and supporting functions (R&D and Quality) including a robust Business Continuity Plan. Market and supply analysis including and cost trends to identify and manage risks and opportunities Accountable for Supplier Performance management including tracking supplier performance and working with suppliers to improve performance year of year and ensuring the supplier develops the capacity and capabilities to meet PepsiCo’s future needs Partner with Global Procurement Market Supply Offices to help drive best practices and to leverage the ‘Power of One’ for savings opportunities. Accountable for development and delivery of Annual Operating Plan (AOP), financial forecasting processes and Purchase Price Variance for designated categories/accounts Deliver productivity against YoY targets and validate and track productivity calculations through forecasting cycles. Policy compliance with bidding and commercial terms and provide commercial governance to the category spend. Lead Procurement specific projects & Processes or be Procurement lead on key organizational initiatives. Qualifications Essential Criteria: Possess strong Functional knowledge (+5-7 years in Procurement roles): detailed understanding of and appreciation for different aspects of Procurement such as sourcing, supplier management, negotiation planning and execution and cost management Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a multinational working environment ideally including experience of the FMCG sector Possess strong business/commercial acumen allied with the ability to see bigger picture Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail with the ability to distil complex numerical and written data into succinct messages using appropriate reporting formats Experience of managing processes and using data to drive processes and outcomes Excellent communication skills with an ability to build relationships with a wide array of people of different cultural backgrounds, countries and organizational positions including the ability to manage and align stakeholders within a matrix organisation. Ability to distil complex numerical and written data into succinct messages using appropriate reporting formats Project management experience and skill set Proven experience at delivering strong business results including through negotiated agreements Ability to identify efficiency opportunities, challenge current norms constructively, and deliver effective efficient ways of working Hold a bachelors degree in a numerate discipline e.g. procurement, supply chain, accountancy, economics, science or engineering.
