Quality Calibration Technician

SUMMARY Supports plant operations by ensuring that calibrated tools and equipment are maintained, calibrated, and available for use. This position also supports the inspection team during peak periods to ensure inspections are completed in a timely manner to support revenue goals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Calibrating or sending calibrated tools/equipment to outside firms for calibration. Maintaining records of calibration activities and keeping the Fiix system up to date. Addressing issues with calibrated tools, such as damage to a tool requiring verification prior to use. Acting as an example to the rest of the plant on use of procedures, following rules and policies, and cleanliness. Inspecting mechanical assemblies, basic wiring, and finishes (including paint, plating, and conversion coating). SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience A college degree in a technical field is helpful but not required. High school diploma is the minimum education level for this position. Experience in inspection or calibration is helpful. Attention to detail, organization, and a high degree of work ethics are essential. Language Skills This position requires the ability to read and interpret technical and legal documents, including contracts, design drawings, and specifications. Understanding of the Spanish language is helpful but not required. Software/Analytical Skills Proficiency with MS Excel and the ability to learn and operate proficiently in less common software packages is essential. Common software for this position will include the Fiix preventative maintenance/calibration software. Reasoning Ability The ability to make decisions based upon incomplete data is important in this position. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The employee should be able to move items up to 50 lbs. Employee will be required to pass an annual eye examination. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment for this position is on our production floor, which includes both areas of climate control and areas that are less controlled.
