<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood performs consulting and EPCM services for many of North America's power generation, and power distribution companies. <br><br>Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for a <b>Senior Contracts and Procurement Specialist</b> in our Power Solutions group. Reporting to the <b>Supply Chain Manager</b> , this position is located in our Vancouver office. This role has overall responsibility for the well-timed and accurate execution of project <b>procurement </b>and sub-contracting that ensures the completion of key milestones/objectives, minimizes commercial risks, emphasizes safety, enhances competitive advantage and meets customer expectations, always in strict accordance with Wood Supply Chain Code of Business conduct. If you have a successful track record and thrive on challenges in a fast-paced environment, this is the opportunity for you. <br><br><b> Key Responsibilities </b><br><ul><li>Accountable for leading medium to high-complexity procurement and contracting processes</li><li> Managing, coordinating, and administrating contracts and procurement to ensure cost and schedule compliance </li><li> Lead junior staff and work with the supply chain group as well as project staff to develop and implement the contract strategy for procurement, construction, and service contracts </li><li> Effectively delivering sourcing activities following established processes and quality requirements so that projects and ongoing operations are delivered safely, with quality, within budget, and on time </li><li> Establish good working relationships with the project team and the owner </li><li> Assist with preparing, issuing, and obtaining approval of the tenderer list for the specific contract packages </li><li> Prepare tender documents from generic templates, meeting the project and individual package requirements and launch the Requests for Tender </li><li> Manage all clarifications and pre-close correspondence </li><li> Receive tenders, proceed with the analysis and manage internal and external communication </li><li> Support the bid evaluation process with the project manager and owner when reviewing proposals and recommending the award </li><li> Attend negotiations with selected tenderers and assist in preparing commercial recommendations for contract award </li><li> Conform and issue contract documents for signature </li><li> Analyze compensation requests and progress payments </li><li> Strictly control modifications to the contracts, negotiating requests for modifications, claims, and litigation, if necessary </li><li> Manage invoicing and payment cycles </li><li> Coordinate the close-out of contracts, including submittal of deliverables and performance assessment </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Bachelor's degree or diploma in a relevant discipline </li><li> Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in procurement and construction contract administration </li><li> Experience in contract administration for major civil or utilities or industrial projects, preferably with construction site experience </li><li> Experience in categories for major civil infrastructure or industrial or Power Transmission & Distribution Capital Projects that are similar to BC Hydro, is desirable </li><li> Proactive, confident approach to contract administration </li><li> Certificate or additional education in Supply Chain Management, an asset </li><li> Excellent proficiency in the English language (spoken and written) </li><li> Strong analytical and problem-solving skills </li><li> Highly developed time management and organizational skills </li><li> Understanding of contract styles such as lump sum, unit rate, etc. </li><li> Proven track record of maintaining high-quality standards while working within tight deadlines </li><li> Team spirit and ability to find solutions to work-related problems </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
