This role requires excellent written, oral communication, listening skills and organizational skills. Effectively communicates to all populations and clinical professionals over the phone. Must be able to navigate and document effectively in computer applications while speaking with callers. Proficiency in keyboarding skills with accuracy. Strong technology skills are preferred. Ability to work autonomously and as a team member. Maintains confidentiality of all patient interactions. Compact RN license required. Prepare documentation information and transmit medical information. Provide non-judgmental triage and/or advice using the nursing process, specific protocols and established resources. Direct callers to appropriate level of care and provide healthcare advice/education using assessment skills, approved guidelines, and knowledge of self-care practices. Select and deliver appropriate follow-up materials. Provide professional, safe and effective care-related advice to patients. Requirements Licensure / Certification / Registration: Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed. BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Education: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire. Additional Preferences Texas or Compact RN License needed Previous triage experience Minimum 3 years RN experience an acute or ambulatory setting. Proficient in keyboarding skills with accuracy.
