Our R&D focuses on the development of vaccines against infectious diseases that combine high medical needs and strong commercial potential. Our Vaccines business has a portfolio of over 20 vaccines to help protect people against a range of diseases throughout their lives. We provide these vaccines to people living in more than 160 countries. We have a pipeline of 17 candidate vaccines in development as of fiscal year 2020, including three for the prevention of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). In October 2017, our shingles vaccine, Shingrix, received regulatory approval in Canada and the United States. Once developed, our innovative treatments are produced to the highest standards and distributed to the regions that need them most. Efficiency and speed of execution must be optimal because it can be a matter of life or death. It's no wonder, then, that more than 70% of our staff is concentrated in Global Industrial Operations - a core entity that produces and manages the entire vaccine supply process, from customer ordering to distribution in the whole world. As its name suggests, Global Industrial Operations operates in a multinational context, has more than 17 locations around the world and works closely with colleagues from various disciplines and trades. The department is divided into operating units focused on various aspects of the manufacturing and supply process, such as Supply Chain Management, Technical Services and New Product Introduction which oversees the transfer of production from R&D to industrial operations. Within the GIO organization, GVSC or Global Vaccines Supply Chain is key for the global planning and alignment of Vaccines production capacity. This team also leads the processes to make the cold chain solution available for operations through internal and external change controls. This includes selection, approval of supplier and qualifications in close collaboration with the suppliers and customers. As the scope of the team is global, the strategy needs to be deployed to the entire GSK Vaccines’ network. Regular meetings with other international sites and customers are taking place. This role contributes directly to the successful delivery and deployment of cold chain project at the boundaries of the VDCC/GVSC/Vx and Rx. Accountability for deploying the operating model changes for the teams in scope without disruption to GSK operations. Apply now!
