Senior Telco Cloud Specialist - EMEA - Opportunity for Working Remotely

You will have the opportunity to help Telco customers successfully virtualize and containerize their mobile networks, from the core (especially the 5G Core) through the edge to the RAN. We are at an exciting point in time where 5G deployments are accelerating, edge deployments could open new revenue streams for CSP and RAN is being disaggregated, virtualized and optimized using AI and ML technologies. Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? You will be expected to gain hands-on competency on VMware Telco Cloud products to be able to present and discuss them with customers in a meaningful manner, from the technical expert's level up to CTO level. You will start to work closely with the accounts teams of your territory, defining account strategies to enter or expand those accounts. You will deliver customer workshops, collect feedback, and share them with our Product Management teams. You will start to navigate within VMware and work with many of your colleagues, from Sales, Professional Services, Partners’ Management, Product Management, Engineering, etc. You will be identified as a subject matter expert on our Telco Cloud Solutions. The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? You will assist VMware account teams to prospect for and develop Telco Cloud-related opportunities, including converged Telco Cloud/IT opportunities You will build strong relationships with account teams, especially Pre-Sales and work with them in a matrixed environment You will help them understand and position VMware strategic value to an operator’s CTO organization You might independently conduct and manage conversations and relationships with our Telco customers, in coordination with account teams You will position VMware Telco Cloud solutions across 4G & 5G Core, Edge, RAN and private communications with customers’ CTO and technical management while gaining an understanding of their specific challenges when it comes to virtualization/containerization, of the competitive environment and of the overall vendor ecosystem When required, you will organize and coordinate PoCs with the customers and the relevant VMware teams You will support and help coordinate high-quality answers to Telco Cloud RFx You will work with the Telco ecosystem to enable their local technical teams on VMware solutions, understand how their solutions can be best integrated with VMware solutions and partner with them when possible/required on customer engagements You will partner with the various teams of the Telco Business Unit to get the required enablement and provide feedback from customers and partners You will participate in Industry events and conferences as needed and drive specific initiatives to support VMware Telco business in the assigned region Part of this role is also travelling to meet your customers - you will conduct those interactions using tools such as Zoom, Teams, Slack or Miro What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like? You will be part of a team of senior Telco Cloud specialists, working on their assigned customers or territories. They all have long Telco industry and Pre-Sales experience and are self-motivated people. The team is spread across the EMEA region. You will have frequent interactions with your Manager but will have large autonomy on a daily basis and little formal reporting is expected. You will share information with the rest of the team and can expect the team to help you when you have questions. Where is this role located? Remote: This role can be either fully remote or flexible, allowing you the flexibility to work from the location you feel most productive and comfortable.
