About the Job WHAT WILL YOU DO? Perform administrative & operational functions supporting a designated buyer. Analyze and interpret key business issues as directed by supervisor including the monitoring of regional merchandise report, open-to-buy monitoring, and stock analysis. Develop effective relationships with vendors. This includes appropriate level of interaction with vendors in terms of both problem and follow-up. Demonstrate the ability to effectively utilize the merchandising systems. Demonstrate product knowledge through sharing information with buyer as a result of competitive shopping, shopping PetSmart stores and the market. Completion of individual and group project which will allow you to solve for real business needs by presenting your recommendations and innovative ideas to PetSmart leaders. Leave your “paw” print with a project designed to make a true impact on the business. WHAT WILL YOU NEED? A passion for pets!!! Desire to lean, grow and engage. Team player attitude. A drive for results. Graduating Dec 2023 or May 2024. Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a retail discipline or related field. You understand retail math and have strong analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication. You are proficient in Excel and familiar with MS Office. Willingness to relocate to Phoenix, Arizona for the summer and potential future FT role Must be able to produce work in a collaborative, team environment.
