What You Will Do Ascension Medical Group is looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for Ascension Medical Group Eastside Cardiovascular Medicine. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to provide medical services to patients at Ascension Medical Group Eastside Cardiovascular Medicine located in Roseville, MI. Position Highlights: Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. / 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (hours may vary based on need) Room for growth and development in a more independent-practitioner care model. Responsibilities: Duties include new patient consults, ED consults, CVICU consults and coverage for known practice patient admissions at Ascension St. John Hospital and Ascension Macomb Hospital. Includes independent clinic patient encounters for routine follow-up visits, acute visits, and hospital follow-ups. Works in conjunction with the physicians to provide a plan of care, management and treatment for cardiology patients. Educate patients and family members on cardiology testing and procedures. Works independently to field and manage calls, questions and concerns of nursing support staff and other physicians related to the care of hospital admission patients. Rotating coverage at the ambulatory clinic practice in Roseville and hospital with other practice based APP. Job Requirements Licensure / Certification / Registration: Physician Assistant: BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA. Verified by local Credentialing Office. Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board Physician Assistants Task Force obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office. Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred. Nurse Practitioner: • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Education: Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program required. Master's degree preferred. Nurse Practitioner: • Master's degree of Nursing required. Work Experience: One to two year of recent and relevant experience as a PA/NP in Cardiology preferred.
