Consultant - Carbon Footprint Reduction

<p><b>Overview / Responsibilities </b><br />

Wood Carbon Footprint Reduction (CFR) Consultancy has been established to assist clients achieve their climate change ambitions. While supporting clients develop the organisational framework and arrangements to assess and manage climate related risks and opportunities.<br />
<br />
The team is providing a full decarbonisation consulting service with a strong technical engineering emphasis. This CFR Consultant role would suit a highly motivated individual with a diverse set of skills and the initiative to rise to a challenge. Wood aspires to be a leading consultant in the Carbon Footprint Reduction marketplace and, as such, is involved in some of the largest and pioneering developments and projects, which affords the potential candidate exposure to a vast and exciting array of career opportunities.<br />
<br />
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing comprehensive greenhouse gas emissions inventories and baselines. In addition, performing cradle-to-grave lifecycle analysis and modeling while identifying opportunities to decrease the carbon footprint of projects and operating facilities across the globe for a variety of progressive clients in the energy and mining sectors.<br />

A variety of additional commercial and non-commercial emissions accounting-based tasks will also be expected to advance and develop Wood&
39;s position as a market leading Carbon Footprint Reduction consultancy.<br />

<br />
<b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p>

<ul>
<li>Data interpretation and analysis</li>
<li>Development and updating methodologies and tools for quantifying greenhouse gas emissions</li>
<li>Assist clients to map energy and fuel usage and associated carbon equivalent emissions</li>
<li>Using Circular Carbon Economy principles to develop a multi-factor approach to meet wider sustainable development objectives</li>
<li>Calculating Scope 1, 2 &amp; 3 emissions and compiling emissions inventories for equipment, units, facilities, and companies</li>
<li>Supporting colleagues to identify and screen carbon reduction opportunities - feedstock, fuels, power sources, process &amp; applicable technologies</li>
<li>Preparation of technical study reports / presentations and associated deliverables</li>
<li>Support the preparation of technical / commercial proposals</li>
<li>Awareness of the business environment, market and on-going innovation in technology and research in climate-related subjects and issues</li>
<li>Verification of third-party energy and emissions inventories</li>
<li>Represent the company at external events and conferences</li>
</ul>

<p><b>Skills / Qualifications </b><br />

<b>Education &amp; Skills:</b></p>

<ul>
<li>University Degree in Process Engineering, Engineering Science, or a Sustainable Development-related discipline or climate related subject</li>
<li>Strong Microsoft Office skills particularly Excel</li>
<li>Analytical skills and can systematically break a complex task into more manageable parts and identify the critical components of a problem</li>
<li>A strong communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills</li>
<li>High-quality report writing and presentation skills</li>
<li>Good organisational skills</li>
<li>Keen to learn and keen to share learning with others</li>
<li>Good at working in teams and flexible in thinking and in work methods</li>
</ul>

<p><b>Desirable:</b></p>

<ul>
<li>Post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline</li>
<li>Member or Associate Member of an internationally recognised Professional body</li>
<li>Experience of compiling, analysing, and interpreting large datasets</li>
<li>Experience in presenting and formulating attention grabbing reports and presentation material</li>
</ul>
