What You Will Do As a PA or APRN in Spine Surgery, you will work closely with the surgeons to evaluate pre-operative and post-operative spine surgery patients in the clinic and the hospital, as well as first assist in the operating room. Position Highlights: Acute Care Certification is required for all NPs Combined Inpt/Outpt position Main locations: Ascension Seton Medical Center, Dell Children's Medical Center and Texas Spine and Scoliosis Center Clinic Will support 4 surgeons M-F, 8-5 Some evening and weekend call, rotated between 7 APPs (with extra compensation) Responsibilities: Obtains patient history and performs assessment. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures. Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions. Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care. Job Requirements Nurse Practitioner Required Credential(s): Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing. Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing. First Assist (RNFA) Preferred Credential(s): BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA). Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration. Education: Master's degree of Nursing required Physician Assistant Required Credential(s): BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90days) of hire date or job transfer date. Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Medical Board. Certified Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of PhysicianAssistants (NCCPA). Preferred Credential(s): Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
