Senior Piping Designer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Piping Designer to join our team in Brisbane on a permanent basis. <br><br>The successful candidate will be responsible for providing and contributing to Projects in accordance with project budget, technical requirements, cost estimates, and undertake design reviews to ensure they are fit for purpose and be confident in executing these plant layouts and piping design activities utilizing 3D modelling software's notably Bentley OpenPlant and Hexagon SmartPlant 3D. <br><br>This role will be part of a close knit and proficient Engineering Team within Wood that supports each other as well as ensuring our client receives best practice support and ensuring project delivery at the highest level possible. <br><br><b> Responsibilities </b> <br><ul><li> To have a full understanding of the project's scope, overall schedule, deliverables, milestones, manhour budgets, industry standards, applicable codes, and procedures. </li><li> Responsible for performing plant layout and piping design activities for brownfield and greenfield projects. </li><li> To be highly capable and confident in developing brownfields concepts, FEED through to execution, in a seamless fashion working with all other disciplines in design and Engineering project personnel </li><li> Development of various piping design deliverables such as fabrication isometrics, general arrangement drawings, and detailed special pipe support drawings </li><li> Checking of deliverables prior to issue </li><li> Coordinate the design effort with other engineering and design disciplines </li><li> Input into construction scope of works or workpacks. </li><li> Site experience with the capability to perform field walk downs using P&ID's, locating tie points dimensionally, and routing pipe through existing facilities. Locate and identify pipe support types </li><li> Ensure open communication between stakeholders including peers and Project Managers to ensure schedules are met in accordance with project requirements </li><li> Assist in the technical/commercial preparation of bid and tender packages </li><li> Quality Assurance - work within the provisions and guidelines in line with Wood's Quality Assurance systems. Ensuring technical correctness and compliance with standard procedures and design basis </li><li> Safety - Responsible for personal safety and working within the Occupational Health & Safety procedures </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> 2 or 3 year technical diploma with piping design specific training or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience </li><li> Minimum 10+ years of piping design experience </li><li> Familiar with the prime drivers related to Queensland's coal seam gas industry. </li><li> Willingness to travel and undertake site surveys in Queensland's northern and central region. </li><li> Site experience is an added advantage </li><li> Significant experience using MicroStation and OpenPlant </li><li> Experience with Hexagon's SmartPlant 3D or Aveva's E3D software is a plus point </li><li> Strong understanding of using point cloud and ability to interpret flange survey results </li><li> Familiar with laser scanning and conventional surveying techniques </li><li> A committed and professional team player with a positive attitude </li></ul><br> Candidates must have full working rights in Australia to be considered for this role. <br><br>If you're an experienced Senior Piping Designer, ready for your next project, then we are keen to hear from you today. <br><br>Apply now and take the next step in your career with this exciting opportunity! <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
