Principal Piping Designer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Piping Designer on a permanent basis for our Melbourne office. <br><br>Reporting to the Lead Piping Designer, the successful candidate will be responsible for design, specification and services related to piping systems and piping layout including piping material selection, piping material line classes, standard and specialty piping components, pressure, weight and thermal analysis of piping systems, vibration analysis and piping support systems. <br><br><b> Responsibilities </b> <br><ul><li> To have a full understanding of the project's scope, overall schedule, deliverables, milestones, manhour budgets, industry standards, applicable codes, and procedures. </li><li> To be highly capable and confident in developing brownfields concepts, FEED through to execution, in a seamless fashion working with all other disciplines in design and Engineering project personnel </li><li> Sound interpersonal skills, liaising with members of other disciplines and departments </li><li> Apply an awareness and willingness to work as a team member </li><li> Site experience with the capability to perform field walk downs using P&ID's, locating tie points dimensionally, and routing pipe through existing facilities. Locate and identify pipe support types </li><li> Ensure open communication between stakeholders including peers and Project Managers to ensure schedules are met in accordance with project requirements </li><li> Quality Assurance - work within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems.
