Site Name: Belgium-Wavre Posted Date: Jan 12 2023 Job purpose: As EHS Champion, you are responsible for advising the company and employees on health and safety legislation and compliance. Develops and implements company policies, plans and professional standards, meeting any changes to legal or operational requirements. Your responsibilities: You certify the safety of chemical products for placement in company or customer environments You develop site/plant personnel safety programs and train employees at the plant, develop/teach hazard avoidance and disease prevention You act as a consultant, review facilities and manufacturing processes for potential safety risks You develop and monitor implementation of training and education programs for safety compliance strategies and various regulatory requirements in a manufacturing safety You monitor the adherence to guidelines and policies You monitor the adherence to constructional and operational fire protection regulations You conduct safety studies You assist the EHS Manager in assuring sites compliance to Belgium regulations and GSK policies and standards, minimizing industrial risks and preventing occupational injuries. You perform workplaces risks screenings and analysis (lead specific taskforces) You perform risks analysis for new products, processes and projects You develop sites safety/ergonomy/industrial hygiene/fire/environment protection programs You promote a prevention culture among the organization You prepare and organize trainings You review new capital investments (regarding EHS aspects) and advise the project managers You organize emergency response drills You issue EHS procedures and specifications You analyze incidents, first aids, accidents, spills and propose preventive/corrective actions You support and advise line management. Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Engineering degree or BSc in sciences (electro-mechanics, chemistry, environment, etc…) Registered safety advisor (level 1 or 2), or environmental coordinator EHS regulations, methodologies and technologies Demonstrates fluency in spoken and written English and French Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics it would be a plus: At least 5 years professional experience with at least 3 years in similar business (biotech, pharma, food industry) Why GSK?
