Identity and Authentication Services – Senior Engineer - Opportunity for Working Remotely

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? We are looking for someone who will be responsible for architecting platform specific solutions that will be utilized across the VMware enterprise. They will need ensure incidents are effectively prioritized and responded to per defined service level agreements. Excellent oral and written interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, build rapport and persuade others are skills to have. Additionally, improving customer experience and assisting managers, and other senior staff, with analysis of customer request tickets is a requirement for this role. Within the first 30 days, get to know the team and develop an understanding of the technology we manage, scope of work, and responsibilities of each member. Additionally, begin operating as a member of the team and completing assigned tasks. Within the first 90 days, provide support for the systems we manage and work with others to maintain the workflow of corporate systems Within the first 180 days, develop and test the workflow solutions by working with fellow team members and establish plans for continued implementations for corporate use What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? The role requires you to architect a solution and provide operational support for a platform that adheres to the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). Understanding and applying identity management principles is essential. Knowledge of the Azure identity management platform is preferred and will aid in your success in this role. Use of Fast ID Online (FIDO) security keys will also be a factor in securing the platform. Workspace ONE Access is VMware’s digital workspace that provides multi-factor authentication (MFA), conditional access, and single sign-on to SaaS, web, and native mobile apps. You will become knowledgeable in Workspace ONE Access's use, architecture, and implementation at VMware to enable innovative solutions. Additionally, you will provide support for the MFA solution utilized by VMware resources and systems. Knowledge of federal practices for information technology is also a benefit. The implementation of the CMMC-compliant platform will need to meet the requirements of government guidelines. This will also include the adherence to the Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS). Possessing experience with these types of guidelines will be necessary to ensure the successful implementation of the platform. Additionally, you will utilize your experience to lead projects from the inception of the strategy, definition of requirements, implementation of solution and transition to operational support. You will provide technical leadership to peers within the team and provide guidance to support team members. Strong interpersonal team interaction and collaboration with global staff is required to brainstorm solutions. Also, provide documentation as needed for the services and strategies that are utilized. His background includes architecting and implementing enterprise-level security and risk management solutions. For many years as a software engineer, he excelled in process improvement, systems development, and systems integration. Currently, he leads this team of globally placed staff to maintain the corporate instance of Workspace ONE Access and the MFA solution. The hiring manager encourages independent and innovative thinking to accomplish the team's set goals. He wants people that work well with a team and are self-motivated to complete assigned tasks. The team is made up of technology professionals based in United States, Costa Rica, Bulgaria and India. We interact with coworkers and vendors all over the world to maintain our systems. The team works flexible hours, arranging schedules to fit their needs, all while ensuring full coverage for the systems we manage. For CO, NY, CA and WA residents, the salary range for this position is: $96,000.00 -$232,000.00. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
