Responsibilities PepsiCo is on the look-out for a Quality Control Analyst to join our Operations function and be part of our team in Carrigaline on a 14 month contract basis. We are the concentrate team in PepsiCo (PGCS) working across the Beverage, Nutrition and Snacks categories to deliver concentrate for many of PepsiCo’s mega brands including Gatorade, 7Up and Pepsi. We are at the heart of PepsiCo products, sourcing ingredients to manufacture more than 1,200 recipes for our brands. The role is based in Carrigaline plant which is a critical component in our Concentrate manufacturing network. Role Summary The successful candidate will be responsible for the analytical testing of incoming raw materials, in-process samples and finished products in compliance with a product specification. All activities are conducted in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practice and safety requirements, while ensuring a positive team environment and a focus on continuous improvement. Role Overview Primary point of contact for the production manufacturing lab co-ordinating daily testing schedules in conjunction with the operations supervisors to ensure quality turnaround times are supporting the production requirements. Lead all product deviation investigations of Manufacturing issues working with operations, maintenance, engineering, R&D and supply chain to technically assess the issue and identify root cause, develop corrective and preventative actions ensuring integrity of products. Develop and Lead training plan for Manufacturing Team to ensure all analysts are trained and proficient ensuring full compliance to the corporate test methods and local SOPs on disposition of product for filling and shipping Mentor and guide the production Manufacturing Team on issue resolution and troubleshooting to help build technical knowledge of emulsions and the various types of blends across the product portfolio Management of the new product innovation quality process, co-ordinating presence at the weekly stakeholder meeting to ensure quality readiness with specifications and control samples for the local approval of products to meet the innovation schedule deadlines Ensure all instrumentation used is validated and calibrated ensuring the highest accuracy Monitor lab compliance to the quality GCS controls for new products and specifications changes Identification and implementation of Continuous Improvement Initiatives Ensure that all EHS rules are adhered to Qualifications Role Requirements A degree in Food Science, Chemistry or a related discipline. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a quality Manufacturing related position. In – depth knowledge and understanding of plant manufacturing laboratories. Good troubleshooting skills. Ability to manage a varied workload. Excellent communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical findings to project teams, as well as management and other stakeholders, providing recommendations based on experimental data and critical observation.
