Senior Member of Technical Staff - Cloud Automation & Productivity

You will be part of a new and exciting team that is responsible for building and testing a set of critical platform services and enable Partners to consume them and create a VMware SDDC service for their customers. From testing and, even more so, from Partner enablement perspectives it's a handful! Validating a system with various infrastructure, application and platform components and services, that span across the entire software stack is a huge challenge! And that's where we need you. This opportunity also enables you to work on complex customer configurations and collaborate with development team to debug customer use cases. You love technology and thrive under the high standards required when creating a platform others build upon Responsibilities Work closely with engineers to understand product changes and prioritize testing accordingly Write and execute automated feature and regression tests for current releases Grow the test set based on reported bugs and gap analysis Open and verify/close bugs Ensure our software meets feature, stability, performance and backward compatibility requirements Required skills You have a proven track record of challenging projects, showing 8+ years of experience with excellent understanding of Python, Rest API's, Automation and Virtualization Expertise in developing Automation frameworks using Python Language Exposure to object-oriented design principles is desired Good Knowledge of Operating system and Networking Strong experience with Linux based environment Should have passion of good understanding of design principles, best practices and SDLC processes Analyze functional requirements for the product; understand customer use case scenarios and enhance coverage Enhance test automation framework and automate new test cases Participate in bug triage activities; manage bugs, drive the activities for the bug to get a closure Prefer to have Good knowledge on Docker , Kubernetes, Helm, Jenkins Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering Category : Engineering and Technology Subcategory: Software Engineering Experience: Manager and Professional Full Time/ Part Time: Full Time Posted Date: 2023-01-10 VMware Company Overview: At VMware, we believe that software has the power to unlock new opportunities for people and our planet.
