<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br><b> Senior Mechanical Engineer - Packages / Rotating Equipment, Glasgow Based </b><br><br> Wood requires Senior Mechanical Engineering services with Packages / Rotating Equipment expertise within our Process & Energy division for a duration of 12 months, providing services across various project scopes as part of our growth in 2023. <br><br>If required, the appointed Engineer will be expected to attend client site visits. <br><br><b>Join a culture of innovation, pushing the boundaries of what is possible to seek the best solutions for our clients.</b> <br><br> The projects include FEED, Detailed Design and EPC phases with long-lead item enquiry and procurement activities, applications will be considered from Engineers who are interested in contract opportunities, due to the nature of the projects the opportunity will support hybrid working alongside a requirement of 3 days per week within our Glasgow project office. <br><br>To be considered, the opportunity requires experience with a wide range of Packaged / Rotating Equipment and Materials knowledge, e quipment includes shell and tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels and other mechanical equipment packages. <br><br>If all of this sounds good to you, review the typical responsibilities of the role and the requirements of the position below, then follow the link to apply and start your journey with Wood. <br><br><b> Workscope: </b><br><ul><li> Management of workload and budgets, responding to client requirements as they arise </li><li> Prepare material requisitions for the defined package equipment </li><li> Issue material requisitions to the Procurement Department for enquiry, order placement and for any subsequent revisions </li><li> Provide technical support to Engineering studies such as design reviews, HAZOP, SIL, and Constructability reviews </li><li> Review Supplier's quotations, prepare technical quotation evaluation </li><li> Manage project documentation effectively, ensuring all disciplines are kept well informed </li><li> Recommend the final technically acceptable Vendor in conjunction with commercial quotation evaluation </li><li> Provide assistance for inspection and witnessing of tests of major equipment as required </li><li> Positively engage with suppliers to enable rapid design development </li><li> Ensure efficient problem solving and clear communication with the Wood engineering team </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br>At Wood, we understand and acknowledge that everyone is different, and we are committed to equal opportunities and want to access all of the talent that is out there.
