The primary responsibility of the Senior Manager Medical Communications, Australia and New Zealand for this role is to lead, manage, and execute on the efforts for medical communications which entails scientific content and market publications, which are globally aligned and meet the needs of the Australia and New Zealand markets. The medical communications are intended to support the effective and appropriate use of BMS medicines. Responsibilities Establish a clear, viable, and compelling strategy for the market Medical Communications, aligned with overall Medical vision, strategy, and objectives, and ensure delivery of timely and high-quality medical publications, scientific content, training content, and congress presentations Provide direct oversight that drives adaptation of WW medical communications which may be needed to support markets across the globe Establish and ensure execution of a clear communication strategy for Australia/New Zealand markets which are aligned with the global strategy and designed to ensure delivery of timely and high-quality information exchange Drive an integrated approach for timely delivery of data and insights as well as for engagement in credible scientific exchange with patients, healthcare providers, and other customers across the portfolio to meet Australia/New Zealand market demands Understand the communication needs and own the pull-through and execution of the Scientific Narrative, development & execution of functionally integrated publication plan, content plan, training plan, and application to the Scientific Communication Platform (SCP) Develop strong partnership with TA Medical Communications, Market Medical, and Field Medical to fiercely prioritize and align on strategic priorities and objectives Proactively identify trends and opportunities and work effectively as a member of the Medical Matrix Market Team and other core Medical teams by contributing to development of the Medical Brand Plan, communicating insights and trends from Australia and New Zealand to help shape the scientific communications and ensure timely journal submissions, publications, congress presentations, and delivery of internal and external scientific content Analyse and interpret scientific data to update or develop comprehensive, balanced, credible and accurate documents that comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidance and BMS policies and procedures. Maintain scientific content in the MI system (e.g. AuthorIt, Vault, MIO) Manage and prioritise multiple projects, provide solutions to complex problems, and delivers complete and accurate information within deadlines. Ensure effective rollout and communication occurs, feedback loops are implemented, and continuous improvement opportunities are identified for medical communications Develop, maintain and enhance a high level of knowledge in the respective therapeutic area(s) to provide high quality medical communication support Manage day to day finances, contracting and vendor agency partnership to drive planning and execution of market medical communications Obtain and evaluate regional metrics and customer insights which help inform the medical communication strategy Qualifications, experience and competencies Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years industry experience preferably in communication or agency work. This candidate would through study or work experience consider themselves an expert in clinical, pharmacological and pharmaceutical knowledge demonstrated by clear understanding of medical terminology PharmD, MD, PhD 2+ years of experience in clinical practice, pharmaceutical industry, or scientific communications agency. Expert in function, activities, and processes of Medical Information and Medical Affairs. Excellent scientific/medical written and verbal communication skills in English Knowledge and scientific experience in BMS portfolio disease areas Expertise across all aspects of scientific communication strategy, planning and execution during all phases of drug development and commercialization process (investigational, registration, pre & post-launch and marketed), desirable Experience working in highly matrix environment and a broad range of functional areas and effectively collaborating with the Medical Affairs, Health Outcomes, R&D, regulatory, legal and commercial teams Understands the needs of health care professionals and demonstrates an understanding of pharmaceutical industry regulations, compliance, and ethical standards Demonstrated ability to manage various projects, solve problems, deliver on commitments, and work with multidisciplinary teams. Strong project management skills Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to work effectively also in a remote virtual environment with a wide range of people and understanding of cultural differences. Management, Budget Planning and Strategic Planning, with ability to support business objectives. Good computer skills with good working knowledge of a range of computer programs.
