Mechanical Engineering Student

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineering Student for the 2023 Spring Semester <br><br>Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to: <br><ul><li> Assist discipline Engineers to complete design projects for various clients </li><li> Assist in transforming preliminary concepts and sketches into engineering designs / drawings </li><li> Conduct research and analysis, and recommend designs </li><li> Support the development of work instructions, bills of materials and Engineering drawings </li><li> Development and updating of P&ID's and Engineering Specifications </li><li> Provide general support to the Wood Mechanical and Project Management Teams </li><li> Participate in office, jobsite, and safety meetings </li><li> Work as a collaborative team member in the growth of our services </li><li> Working with suppliers to help select equipment such and pumps and valves </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><b> Successful candidates should possess the following capabilities /experience: </b> <br><ul><li> Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, codes, standards, and equipment to the design and production of various products </li><li> Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems </li><li> Time management skills are necessary to manage the various design projects </li><li> Conducting oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity </li><li> Good written and verbal communication skills </li><li> Ability to successfully prioritize, and organize projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision in team environments </li><li> Experience with P&IDs, piping design (ISOs) and pumps </li><li> Support a Safe work environment of risk and hazard management and lead by example </li><li> Experience AutoCAD, CADWorx and Navisworks would be an asset </li></ul><br> <b> Education and Experience Requirements: </b> <br><ul><li> Currently attending a university program </li><li> Proficient computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, Outlook </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
