Operations Manager JOB ID: 136803 The role is available on-site for Wimborne, UK Eaton Mission Systems Division previously known as Cobham is the world’s leading provider of hose and drogue Air-to-Air Refueling (AAR) systems and Actuation. Eaton work directly with the aircraft manufacturers and end-users to develop systems that achieve their operations in challenging environments, safely and successfully. The colocation of all the engineering disciplines at Wimborne provides a unique opportunity for you to develop yourself across multi-disciplinary engineering functions. The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and managing a multifunctional team to deliver the agreed scope against Quality, Time and Cost targets. Your main responsibilities: Provide direction and leadership to the Value Stream team. Identify and assign resource to fulfil the execution plan in line with the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) process. Conduct capacity planning and reserve capacity allocation, ensuring that planned shutdowns and maintenance down time are scheduled. Generate local production plans with the cross functional team. Problem solve, direct resources and co-ordinate with the Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) to execute the schedule and consistently achieve on time delivery. Apply Eaton business best practices to ensure that all opportunities for continuous improvement and waste elimination are identified then acted upon. Monitor standard work deployment for all team members, regularly checking. compliance and taking corrective actions where necessary. Develop the capability and capacity of the function to ensure that customer requirements and future programmes can be successfully delivered. Lead daily tier meetings and communicate production/KPI performance using visual management. Present schedules and performance metrics to senior stakeholders. Execute the HR policy in line with authorisation levels, including: managing absence and annual leave, identification of training needs and plans, active recruitment and integration of new team members, coaching managers in core skills and carrying out Personal Development Reviews (PDRs). Maintain compliance with implemented Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and all other applicable regulations.
