<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is recruiting Welder to join our growing team in Brunei.<br><br>Purpose / Role <br><br>• To deliver a high quality, consistent and competent welding construction service in accordance with project / company requirements, standards and procedures. <br><br>• To support overall delivery of company goals and schedule. <br><br>• To ensure all that all workscope is completed in a safe manner ensuring no detrimental impact to personnel, fabric or environment <br><br>Prime responsibilities and duties <br><br>• Read, understand and implement all applicable company / project policies, working practices and procedures, ensuring at all times that the welding work scope is completed safely and to a high standard. <br><br> • All types of Structural welding <br><br> • All types of process pipework and fittings with grades of steel varying from API 5L Grade B through to API 5L X65 inclusive <br><br> • In accordance with ASME 1X for TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding procedure. The test must be carried out in the 6G positions <br><br> • Shall be familiar with company specification and AWS D1.1 and have passed a 6GR welding test in accordance with company procedures. He must be proficient at TKY welded connections. <br><br> • To be familiar with the full range of piping fittings used in the oil industry and the various techniques required to weld them. Must be aware of the piping pressure classification used. <br><br> • Responsible for tacking up, preheating (if required) and welding out full joint. For complex fits up he will have pipe lifter to assist him. Shall carry /pull his own welding and cutting leads, electrodes and tools to the work place. Shall be solely responsible for their welding construction equipment and tools on a platform at all times. Required to keep work area clean and clear at all times, between changing work sites at the end of shifts. <br><br> • Complete all workscope in accordance with applicable workpack / jobcard instructions, associated procedures and drawings / sketches <br><br> • Provide support to other trades/disciplines where required, or form part of an integrated multi-discipline team. <br><br> • Undertake appropriate Risk Assessments (RA) in order to complete workscope in a safe and controlled manner. <br><br>Allied occasional duties <br><br>• Participate and contribute to Amec Foster Wheeler's Emergency Response procedure and process. <br><br> • Participate and contribute in Amec Foster Wheeler's nationalisation/personnel development programmes <br><br> • Be aware of and practice fully the requirement for total safety attitude in all operations <br><br> • Assist with other trades (within capability) <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br>Qualifications/Training <br><br><b> Essential: </b><br><br> • Recognised Welding apprenticeship or demonstrable experience in Welding role <br><br> • Testimonials <br><br> • Welder Test certificates <br><br> • Verifiable Evidence - CV <br><br> • BOSIET/Approved Offshore Medical <br><br> • IMIST/MIST <br><br><b> Desirable: </b><br><br> • Manual Handling <br><br> • I.S.S.O.W/Permit Vision Level 1. <br><br> • Amec Foster Wheeler mandatory training, induction, risk awareness, etc <br><br>Experience <br><br><b> Essential: </b><br><br>• Demonstrable experience post welding apprenticeship/training coupled with current relative experience. <br><br> • 5 years' experience as a certified welder of which 2 years have been spent offshore <br><br><b> Desirable: </b><br><br> • Preferably a Bruneian <br><br>Personal qualities, aptitudes and skills <br><br>• Ability to communicate effectively with team members <br><br> • Demonstrate commitment to working safely at all times <br><br> • Flexible - able to comply with company and client requirements <br><br> • Ability to work with other team members/disciplines and in a multi-cultural environment <br><br> • Confident and with an ability to work unsupervised and work on own initiative <br><br> • Has a desire to learn and develop within the role and also develop others as part of nationalisation programme <br><br>Competencies - generic <br><br>• Possesses a decent standard in spoken and written English <br><br>• Comply with operational and safety manuals and procedures <br><br>• Possesses a good understanding of safe working practices and can demonstrate commitment to safe working at all times. <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
