PHARMACIST (FULL TIME)

Responsibilities GW Hospital is a 385-bed tertiary care, academic medical center located in downtown Washington, DC. Featuring a Level 1 Trauma Center and a Level 3 NICU offers clinical expertise in a variety of areas including cardiac, cancer, neurosciences, women’s health, and advanced surgery including robotic and minimally invasive surgery. Primary care and specialty outpatient care are available through the Medical Faculty Associates, a multi-specialty physician practice group of more than 750 physicians covering 51 specialty and subspecialty areas. The Medical Faculty Associates' doctors have offices in the Ambulatory Care Center, an outpatient clinic building located one block from the hospital. POSITION SUMMARY Staff Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care through integrated drug distribution, patient counseling and teaching. Staff Pharmacists fill orders for medications, monitor patients drug therapies and provide drug information. Staff pharmacist supervises and directs supportive staff. In the absence of the Director of Pharmacy, a staff pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the Director of Pharmacy Qualifications POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education/Qualification Bachelor s Degree in Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.) preferred Skills Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Effective interpersonal skills Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities Knowledgeable of and complies with laws, rules and regulations that govern the practice of pharmacy. Pyxis experience with knowledge of Pyxis Reports (i.e., optimization, load/unload, nursing narcotic access, etc.) Some travel, to follow-up with Corporate, Financial, GPO, Compliance and Pyxis issues.
