SUMMARY: With minimal supervision and guidance operates manual or CNC machine shop equipment. Understands basic engineering drawings and CNC machining techniques. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Operates CNC machining equipment to perform facing, turning, drilling, milling, boring, reaming, tapping and other machining operations on a variety of products. May run multiple machines as needed. 2. With guidance will operate machines such as lathes, millers, grinders, drill presses and will clean and deburr parts as necessary. 3. Check produced parts carefully during run and throughout operations to assure that part conforms to blueprints and other specifications. Capable of using micrometers, calipers, depth gauges and shop mathematics as required. Monitor machine performance to maintain high quality parts. 4. Maintain necessary hand tools and measurement devices for proper performance of the job. Performs preventative maintenance task as required. 5. Works from standard drawings and process followers as well written and verbal instruction. 6. Performs work in other cells and performs other related duties as directed. 7. Instruct others on duties as needed. 8. Follows and supports the 5S program by maintaining a clean work area. Observes all Lytron safety rules. >
