Process Engineer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently seeking <b>Process Engineer</b> to join our expanding Brisbane team who are growing to due large demand in the world's leading critical metals projects. This opportunity will see you work on key internal projects who are leading the way on innovative processing technologies. <br><br>Wood is currently delivering critical metals projects (Battery and Magnet metals) all over the world, including Copper, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals projects. Wood is at the forefront of engineering solutions for a net zero future. A key component of decarbonising the world is the Mining and Minerals Industry which supplies the critical minerals required for this revolution. <br><br>As part of this integral role, duties will include: <br><ul><li> Ensure process designs meet required safety standards and actively participate in HAZOP studies and design reviews </li><li> Deliver best practice process designs in accordance with project, time, budget and technical requirements </li><li> Develop innovative solutions to complex process and technical problems for a wide range of commodities </li><li> Plan, execute and analyse metallurgical test work programs, </li><li> Prepare process deliverables such as process design criteria, process flow diagrams, mass and energy balances, equipment sizing, piping and instrumentation diagrams, process control philosophies, operating cost estimates and study reports </li><li> Support and assist Senior and Principal Process Engineers on studies and implementation projects. </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br>At Wood, we look for innovative ideas and an agile approach to deliver the best possible outcomes and offer you an opportunity to progress and thrive by working collectively and making an active contrib ution . To be successful we are looking for the following skills/background. <br><ul><li> Prior industry experience with varied base metal and mineral commodities such as nickel, cobalt, copper, lithium and rare earths would be highly regarded </li><li> Tertiary Qualifications in Chemical, Metallurgy or equivalent from recognised institution </li><li> Technical knowledge of process plant design exposed to work in concept/PFS/FS stages, in addition to project implementation </li><li> Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills </li><li> Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team </li><li> Experience with metallurgical balancing and simulation software such as SysCAD and/or METSIM would be highly regarded, not essential as can be trained </li><li> Current and valid Australian working rights. </li></ul><br> So much of our success depends on feeling part of a team with people around us that we can rely on.
