GIS Developer

The Team: The IRIS21 team (part of S&P Global Commodity Insights) develop and support some of the most extensive and complete information, analytics, insight, and advisory services in the world. We develop oil and gas databases and software – including energy transition. The Impact: S&P Global E&P data is reliant on the role of the developers within the IRIS21 team for the provision of detailed information and insight for the international oil and gas industry. The developer will collaborate with wider teams within S&P Global to help provide industry leading content and upstream intelligence, enabling clients to make critical investment decisions. Responsibilities: Development of GIS processes to aid in data capture as part of the wider IRIS21 development effort Support and development of tools/process to aid other S&P teams workflows Initiate and run, or be directed to run, projects to improve quality and completeness of GIS layers Work with the team on future initiatives including improving GIS functionality in a cloud environment What We’re Looking For: BSc degree (or equivalent experience) in an IT discipline Strong industry or academic GIS background or experience Experience with GIS tools such as ESRI ArcMap and additionally Oracle SDO would be favourable Database experience and Oracle PLSQL/SQL language knowledge is essential Excellent written and oral communication skills with fluent spoken and written English.
