Job Summary Job Description DUTIES: Contribute to teams responsible for Next Generation Wi-Fi architecture on broadband gateways, video set-top boxes, and Wi-Fi mesh networks in the Comcast ecosystem; evaluate new Wi-Fi technologies, wireless designs, and industry prototypes for incorporation into the Comcast Cable product line using knowledge of 802.11 standards, antenna theory, the OFDMA modulation scheme, EVM (error vector magnitude), and the following radio frequency (RF) engineering principles: receiver sensitivity, and power spectral density; design and configure radio frequency testbeds; define Wi-Fi technical requirements for Next Generation hardware products, including defining algorithms used in the management of Wi-Fi mesh networks; collaborate with product management, hardware engineering, and Comcast RDK-B (Reference Design Kit - Broadband) software teams to ensure technical requirements are met; research, write, and edit technical documentation, including technical requirements, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports; and present and defend design and technical choices to internal audiences. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, and two (2) years of experience designing radio-frequency testbeds; working with EVM (error vector magnitude); and using at least three (3) of the following engineering principles: 802.11 standards, antenna theory, the OFDMA modulation scheme, receiver sensitivity, or power spectral density.
