That's why we're looking for someone talented, someone who wants to develop their skills, someone like you.</p><p> </p><p>Following the principles of Technology Business Management (TBM), the Associate Business Management Analyst will support the management and development of tools to provide insight into the Technology department's financial management to drive data-based decisions. You will support the iteration of toolsets to ensure business management tools meet user needs whilst providing stakeholder training and guidance where needed.<br /><br />You will provide invaluable analytical support to the Technology department so that we can easily report on, control, and optimise technology investments. You will partner closely with colleagues across technology and finance to ensure high-quality and well-structured data to produce valuable insight into technology cost, consumption, and performance.</p><p> </p><p><strong>What will I be doing?</strong></p><p> </p><ul><li>Providing Technology leadership and other key stakeholders with a visible means to monitor and adapt operations through the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of relevant and timely management information (including KPIs, dashboards, trends, and insightful commentary).</li><li>Following the principles of Technology Business Management (TBM) to support the management and development of financial and portfolio management information tools that drive data-based decisions.</li><li>Providing analytical support to enable Technology to report on, control, and optimise technology investments and produce valuable insight into cost, consumption, and performance.</li><li>Delivering ad-hoc deep-dive reporting into outlying or requested metrics to help stakeholders understand the underlying drivers and response.</li><li>Understanding reporting needs and translating them into automated reporting and dashboards through Apptio platforms and supplementing with ad-hoc Excel reports.</li><li>Establishing and developing best practices in the presentation, delivery, automation, and management of our data to streamline monthly operational processes.</li><li>Using and refining dashboards and reports to assist leadership in reviews, flag issues, make recommendations, and identify opportunities.</li><li>Fostering strong relationships with data owners across Technology and the wider charity to ensure the timely and accurate collection and loading of data.</li><li>Working with data owners and colleagues to ensure source data is of high quality and well-structured to produce valuable insight into cost, consumption, and performance.</li><li>Working with data owners to ensure relevant taxonomy is in place and data is well structured, stored, processed, and transmitted in accordance with data security policies.</li><li>Building a network within the worldwide TBM community to exchange ideas and experiences that facilitate Technology to maximise the value of this capability.</li><li>Acting as a technical point-of-contact for the Apptio toolset working with colleagues and suppliers to meet user needs.</li><li>Collaborating with Platform Engineering and Finance to mature FinOps practices. This will involve maximising our existing toolsets and closing gaps to control and optimise cloud spend.</li><li>Defining and setting up processes to measure the carbon footprint of CRUK's technology estate and align with CRUK's sustainability strategy.</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>What skills are you looking for?</strong></p><p> </p><ul><li>Background in financial or data analysis with good financial awareness and experience working closely with Finance and financial systems.</li><li>Advance Excel skills with significant experience working with data and report development.</li><li>Ability to analyse data and draw insights for further analysis and development of recommendations</li><li>Ability to work on own initiative, assess priorities, and be proactive in recommending improvements</li><li>Some understanding of IT Operations &amp; Infrastructure, IT/Digital/Technology services, project lifecycle, and service management (history working with Technology teams a benefit).</li><li>Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver complex messages to a diverse group of stakeholders in brilliantly simple ways</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>What will I gain?</strong></p><p> </p><p>Each and every one of our employees contributes to our progress and is supporting our work to beat cancer.
