IT Systems Support Engineer (M/W)

IT Systems Support Engineer with security focus Purpose of the job: The Systems Support Engineer is responsible for ensuring the secure operation of the Infrastructure environments deployed within the SE ESS network; The main focus of this position will be the responsibility for the security of various infrastructure platforms. These daily executions require effective management and reporting on security across multiple platforms of infrastructure components, servers, devices and applications. Responsibilities include : The IT Systems Support Engineer’s day-to-day activities may include, but are not limited to the following: Follow-up, troubleshooting and maintenance of the data/VOIP networks and it’s security Monitor, follow-up and remediate on incoming security alerts Technical root cause analysis together with troubleshooting and improving existing security posture Setup and maintain all systems, as well as Implement patches and upgrades as appropriate to ensure reliability, security and accessibility. Perform systems administration and management duties for all virtual and physical infrastructure systems Ensure proper service levels are being met and that a high level of customer satisfaction is being maintained Gathering data, preparing reports and continue to improve server/application performance with increasing security, reliability and availability while maintaining or reducing costs Undertaking project work with global team members to complete operational projects and do research when required Follow the change control standards so that all changes are within the documented policy Works with other Systems Support Engineers as well as other teams to drive resolution of incidents and problems Helps architect and implement solutions to address complicated infrastructure designs and application challenges around performance, scaling and security Providing technical support to users and other team members Qualifications Expectations: College, University degree or relevant experience 3-5 years of experience in Network, security and system management in multinational environment is an advantage Knowledge of Microsoft products especially Windows server 2016 and higher, Windows AD and VMWare VSphere and vcenter (6.0 and higher) Knowledge of or want to become an expert in cisco devices like firewalls, switches, WAAS, UCS,… and Cisco monitoring products like LEM, FirePower, Solarwinds, etc… Very good understanding of all network components and mayor computer settings is essential Fluent Dutch and English language knowledge is a MUST Living within a reasonable distance from the Waregem office Skills, competencies: Flexibility to handle multiple job functions in a constantly changing environment while maintaining focus Ability to work in a virtual or distributed team setting Able to conduct oneself in a professional manner, which means the employee will possess sufficient technical abilities as described above; possess good written and oral communication skills; maintain clean and organized work areas; and work as an integral part of the IT team How to apply?
