That's why we we're looking for someone talented, someone innovative and ambitious, someone like you.</p><p> </p><p><strong>What will I be doing?</strong></p><p> </p><p>We have an exciting opportunity to join us in the role of Senior Philanthropy Manager, in our Philanthropy directorate, as a fixed term contract. This is a senior fundraising role responsible for identifying, cultivating, and stewarding relationships with major donors in order to secure gifts of £10k to £1m, with a focus on gifts of £100k+. </p><p>As we develop our operations during the quiet phase of a new philanthropic campaign, this role presents an opportunity to help shape our fundraising and drive progress at the Leadership Giving level.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p><strong>Key duties include:</strong></p><p> </p><ul><li><p>Manage a portfolio of prospects and donors with a primary focus on raising gifts of £100,000 - £1m</p></li><li><p>Build robust and collaborative relationships with internal colleagues including Fundraising Intelligence, Research Information and Engagement and Donor Relations to manage the pipeline and deliver high quality donor relationships</p></li><li><p>A focus on qualifying prospects and developing the engagement and stewardship of the portfolio through the full cycle of giving and renewal</p></li><li><p>Ensure consistent pipeline movement and contribution of prospects both through their giving and senior volunteer activity to grow the major giving pipeline</p></li><li><p>Maximise the use of CRUK engagement opportunities including high value special events and research content to cultivate prospects and steward donors to a high standard</p></li><li><p>Provide regular reporting and track metrics against goals to support portfolio reviews and ensure the portfolio remains on track to deliver organisational goals</p></li><li><p>Partner with leadership, including scientific leadership and Philanthropy colleagues to develop and implement strategies for gifts of £100,000 - £1m and provide guidance to senior leadership on prospect strategies</p></li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><p><strong>What skills are we looking for? </strong></p><p> </p><ul><li><p>Extensive knowledge of soliciting gifts from both warm and cold prospects at the six and seven figure level, or transferable experience of securing new business in a commercial sales environment</p></li><li><p>Experience of working across complex organisations, navigating ambiguity</p></li><li><p>Proven track record of major gift fundraising in the voluntary sector or similar transferable experience gained in the commercial sector, including having met/exceeded KPIs and financial targets over a sustained period</p></li><li><p>Proven experience of building effective long-term relationships with high level individual stakeholders and/or senior volunteers including delivering significant income from and through senior volunteers</p></li><li><p>Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to work with, and communicate effectively and professionally with a wide range of individuals from internal colleagues, institutional leaders and external collaborators, stakeholders and donors</p></li><li><p>Working knowledge of the principals of major gift fundraising to include identification, research, solicitation and stewardship</p></li><li><p>Experience of raising funds for medical research desirable</p></li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><p><strong>What will I gain?</strong></p><p> </p><p>Each and every one of our employees contributes to our progress and is supporting our work to beat cancer.
