Senior Structural Designer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is recruiting a Senior Structural Designer, to further increase the capacity and knowledge base of the well - established Civil / Structural Engineering department. This will give you the opportunity to work on a wide range of Wood projects <br><ul><li> Successful candidate must have relevant experience in: Roads, Drainage, Earthworks, Grading, Paving, and Site Development </li><li> Has experience in the hydrocarbon processing / utilities units, the oil / gas industry or refinery or infrastructure project / process industries and has engineering design experience on large projects </li><li> Has demonstrated capabilities in designing independently with minimum supervision </li><li> Has experience with development, enhancement, and maintenance of 3D graphic visual display and modelling work </li><li> Must have working knowledge of project QA / QC requirements </li><li> Must have knowledge of engineering practices, design details, international codes and standards, procedures, and specifications </li><li> Has experience in preparation of bill of materials </li><li> Experienced designer with sound technical background and in - depth knowledge of manual and CAD drafting techniques </li><li> Experienced in drafting of civil projects </li><li> Experienced in basic knowledge in industry codes, procedures, specifications, and standards </li><li> Assists the design supervisor in coordinating design management with engineering discipline lead engineers </li><li> Responsible for preparing and review of calculations, design drawings, and other information </li><li> Supports construction and procurement with preparation of drawings and material take - offs </li><li> Reviews as - built drawings and assists with collection of design information required by construction and procurement </li><li> Provide guidance to Designer and CADD operators </li><li> Conversant with codes of practice, standards, and relevant sections of statutory documentation applicable to drafting function </li><li> Familiar with and competent in planning, progress monitoring, forecasting, and reporting for drafting function </li><li> Experienced in the supervision of discipline designers and draftsmen </li><li> Able to estimate man - hours and materials for delegated aspects of work </li><li> Able to liaise with project / lead engineers at all levels </li><li> Computer literate (database / spreadsheets) </li><li> Conversant with company and Client drafting standards and specifications </li><li> Conversant with company quality control assurance requirements applicable to drafting function </li><li> Familiar with quality control systems in engineering design </li><li> Experienced With 3 - D Drafting knowledge, preferred </li><li> Must have knowledge of civil design practices, basic calculations, design details, international codes, and standards </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Minimum 10 years of relevant Experience </li><li> Engineering Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Equivalent </li><li> Should be proficient in Microsoft office software </li><li> Occasional field visits, coordination and data gathering </li><li> Potential assignment as Project Designer </li><li> Should also be familiar with editing, opening, and reading drawings in AutoCAD / Microstation / REVIT </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
