­ditional Information About the Role 40 hours/week Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm Overview Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five-county area. Starting as a land gift to the community from the Smith family, Alton Memorial today is a full-service acute care hospital. Alton Memorial offers patients a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery services, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, ambulance services and more. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Provides direct patient care activities, utilizing the nursing process, under the supervision of the RN. Responsibilities Provides general nursing services to patients under the supervision of a physician. Performs various lab procedures according to set standards. Manages inventory of supplies and medications. Implements treatments and procedures within the scope of practice for the Licensed Practical Nurse. Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, provides patient teaching and discharge planning. Participates in professional development and life long learning.
