KPMG professionals monitor the changing laws and sensitivities of regulators, standard-setting bodies, taxing authorities, and the courts. We adopt an anticipatory mindset to help ensure that contentious issues and potential objections are recognized and addressed prior to issuing our report. Our valuation approach is rigorous. We invest the time required to understand the subject business, consulting with professionals from KPMG International's global network as necessary. We combine our theoretical knowledge of sophisticated financial techniques with our practical understanding of capital markets. We excel when faced with complex and unusual issues. Our conclusions are well supported and our reports clear and concise. What you will do This position involves advising public and private businesses operating in a variety of industries on valuation issues. Managing multiple valuation projects concurrently and assume responsibility for the day-to-day execution and delivery of high caliber service on projects. Conduct economic and industry research and detailed financial analysis. Draft valuation models and reports. Reviewing business plans, financial statements, agreements, CIMs, etc. Financial model building and review. Industry and economic research. Thinking creatively to find solutions to unusual client circumstances. Report writing and editing, including the preparation of tables and graphs. What you bring to the role The successful candidate will have the following skills, behaviours and experience: Canadian CPA, CA designation or Masters in Finance will be considered an asset. Enrolled, or willing to enroll in the CBV program with a view to obtaining the CBV designation. Excellent analytical and writing skills. Strong attention to detail. Strong interest in learning about and working with valuation concepts and techniques such as WACC, CAPM, discounting cash flows, earnings multiples, etc. Strong ability to solve complex technical problems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) with demonstrated modelling abilities in Excel.
