Field Services Engineer

What will you do? 1. Customer Service Represent Schneider Electric (APC-MGE) in dealing with customer concerns Travel to customer site as service contract or as circumstances dictate Diagnose and repair, to component level, PCB’s and units returned from the assigned region Perform site evaluations, scheduled and unscheduled site visits Support customers in the installation, modification and repair of APC-MGE products Interact with customers by phone/face to face depending on the level and type of support required Oversee the installation of an APC-MGE product, repair and analyze a failed product or provide customer-site maintenance (such as replacing batteries, fans, etc) Provide consultation to end-users in conjunction with sales by promoting and explaining Services as required Promote good customer relations Interact with end-users to explain the failure mode in detail Draft engineering failure analysis reports for customers with guidance from Engineering Ensure compliance with all safety policies, practices and procedures 2. Training Train customers on equipment operation and maintenance of APC-MGE products Monitor the effectiveness of Service training and provide feedback accordingly 3. Reporting Create country failure reports based on site interventions Identify and report failure modes encountered when in the field and determine the cause of these failures Isolate and rectify equipment installation problems and provide reports on these issues Collate field failure results and symptoms for analysis and provide to Country Services Manager What qualifications will make you successful? Post-trade qualifications preferred (i.e., Associate Diploma, Degree, Certificate, Industrial Electronics Qualified Electrical License) At least 6 to 7 years industry experience including a minimum of 12 months power experience with hands-on working on 415 ac 3 phase and/or 800V dc equipment Good working knowledge of UPS systems, preferably certified on APC-MGE UPSs Products Intimate knowledge and experience in diagnosing and repairing electronic circuitry on a component level Strong English written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and business correspondence skills Ability to analyze root cause of problems Ability to read, analyze, and interprets technical procedures Computer Literate – in particular experience with Windows NT/Novell Netware/Lotus Notes Let us learn about you!
