39;re looking for team members with a high level of technical auditing expertise and knowledge of PCAOB, US Audits and PwC audit methodology</p><p><br /><b>About the team</b><br />ARQ is a national team currently operating out of three primary hubs in London, Birmingham and Edinburgh. Successful secondees would join the US CoE Team, which is part of our technology-connected Risk &amp; Quality team of 120 within ARQ. </p><p></p><p>A secondment into the US Team, will provide the opportunity to support our Foreign Private Issuers, US Domestic Registrants, and US inbound component engagement teams and clients by providing advice and counsel on PCAOB and US GAAS auditing matters, as well as risk management and UK firm issues. As part of the US Team you will provide expert advice on a variety of auditing and risk management topics, support engagement teams in resolving complex issues, develop technical materials, deliver technical US training to the UK firm, and empower and support the UK practice on PCAOB and SOx audits.  The US Team also supports the wider EMEA region in questions, training and consultations on US auditing matters.</p><p></p><p>You will develop strong relationships with engagement teams from the audit practice and</p><p>enhance our ability to provide high quality audits.</p><p></p><p><b>About the role</b><br />The US Team is the first point of call for engagement teams reporting under US</p><p>GAAS or PCAOB methodology. Typical activities include:</p><ul><li><p>Providing accounting guidance and advice in response to consultations and enquiries from the practice</p></li><li><p>Supportorting UK Foreign Private Issuers and Domestic Registrants, and 270 US inbound engagement teams on audit methodology, risk assessment, and SOx engagements.</p></li><li><p>Producing and updating the firm’s US methodology and guidance publications</p></li><li><p>Developing and delivering US technical training to the firm and some clients</p></li><li><p>Prepare PwC UK for the triennial PCAOB inspection and provide support throughout the inspection process.</p></li><li><p>Work with PwC CMAS to support PwC UK teams as part of the US capital markets process including IPOs, GAAS bridging and 3-05 engagements.</p></li><li><p>Consulting with teams in the EMEA region on PCAOB and US audit matters</p></li></ul><p></p><p>Team members will also be part of the wider ARQ team responding to consultations and enquiries from the audit practice via the Consult system.</p><p></p><p><b>What would you get out of a secondment to ARQ?</b></p><ul><li><p>Understanding what a high quality audit looks like - through widening your experience of the challenges faced by a broad range of audit teams. You will be a key part of the firm’s commitment to delivering consistently high quality audits, developing problem solving and thought leadership skills, alongside improving your technical skills and knowledge.</p></li><li><p>Widen your perspective – You will understand the firm from the inside and gain a different perspective. You will discover and assist in delivering what goes on behind the scenes to enable the firm to deal with TPMs and manage the firm’s risk. No two days are the same.</p></li><li><p>Network outside of your peers and BU - Develop an extensive network of contacts across the firm: in ARQ, audit and OGC</p></li><li><p>Problem solving – Work on complex, one-off or difficult issues which are challenging and varied in nature.</p></li><li><p>Practical mindset – Develop pragmatic solutions to overcome issues and manage risk.</p></li></ul><p>Support and coaching structures are in place within ARQ, enabling new skills to be developed in a safe environment.
