Our diverse team of technicians ensure that the University functions efficiently and delivers the levels of student experience both our undergraduates and postgraduates deserve and expect of us. </p> <p>Working in specialist laboratories, workshops, studios and digital facilities, our technical professionals play a key role supporting, guiding, and advising across our university from sciences, art, engineering, design, and technology, through to sports, nursing and teacher training. </p> <p>We are a forward-looking service, committed to a strong culture of continuous improvement and we are passionate about providing the best customer service to our staff and students. </p> <p>New for 2023, we are excited to recruit four new Technical Manager roles; </p> <ul> Technical Manager Arts and Humanities Resource Centres </li> Technical Manager Manufacturing </li> </ul> <ul> Technical Manager Chemistry and Nutrition </li> Technical Manager Core Facilities. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Technical Manager – Core Facilities</strong></p> <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the technical team within Manchester Metropolitan University's as a Technical Manager.</p> <p>This brand new post offers the opportunity to be part of our vibrant technical community, developing its education and research services to meet the needs of a university of the future. Our diverse team of technicians ensure that the University functions efficiently and delivers the levels of student experience both our undergraduates and postgraduates deserve and expect of us. Working in specialist laboratories, workshops, studios and digital facilities, our technical professionals play a key role supporting, guiding, and advising across our university from sciences, art, engineering, design, and technology, through to sports, nursing and teacher training.</p> <p>We are a forward-looking service, committed to a strong culture of continuous improvement and we are passionate about providing the best customer service to our staff and students.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>The role</strong></p> <p>You will be an active member of the technical services team, leading and managing a cross functional team in Core facilities. Focusing on supporting education, research, and commercial delivery. Working closely and collaboratively across professional services and the academy to align service delivery, embedding our core values and strategy across the university.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>About you </strong></p> <ul> <li>You will have led and managed projects or teams, with a proven ability to motivate and develop staff through a mentoring and coaching approach.</li> <li>You will have a flexible approach to work and an ability to work on your own initiative.</li> <li>You will represent Manchester Met in networks and user groups and by attending relevant events to keep up to date with the latest developments and techniques and share information. </li> <li>You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to service excellence.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Are enthusiastic about developing our University's Core Facilities?
