MAP Bitnami Product Manager - Opportunity for Working Remotely

The task of building, patching, upgrading and distributing the required open source projects is labor intensive and undifferentiated work for customers developing business applications. The VMWare Content Solutions platform enables customers to manage the complete lifecycle of open source assets; from building w/ customizations through validation, signing, publishing and asset usage tracking. As a Product Manager, you will work with customers and internal stakeholders to define product strategy and product requirements. You will co-ordinate and direct all activities that move the product through various stages from inception to launch. This position will enable you to apply your technical, interpersonal and organizational skills as part of a team that is building great enterprise software for VMware customers. Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? Build a solid understanding of product capabilities and the ability to articulate the product's value proposition. Establish strong collaborative relationships with engineering and technical program management — with an appropriate level of push-pull that’s part of any healthy product team. You will have created a prioritized backlog of new validated product features that are being executed upon by engineering. You will be interacting with key customers and prospects to gather feature product ideas. Have a deep knowledge of the competitive landscape. You will have formulated a product vision that will increase customer value and increase market share. The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? Define and prioritize product features in a complex technical context. Research, synthesize and document customer use cases around the creation of secure software assets and attendant technologies. Participate in customer engagements to validate the hypotheses, receive feedback, and build a backlog of validated feature ideas. Monitor and track customer requests and incorporate the findings into actionable requirements. Track the customer usage of the capabilities and use that to prioritize the next set of features. Lead efforts to move the product through various stages from inception to launch. Collaborate with customer field teams and go-to-market teams to provide product enablement. Be the lead product advocate that rallies that team around a vision of success. Track competitive product features to ensure product competitiveness. What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like? The hiring manager for this role is an experienced Product Line Manager that has worked at VMware for 8+ years. The team is distributed, with Engineering located in Sevilla Spain and Bangalore India. Product Management functions are located in Sevilla Spain and Palo Alto, USA Where is this role located?
