Infrastructure & Operations Engineer

<p>We are recruiting for an <strong>Infrastructure & Operations Engineer</strong> on a permanent basis within our Aberdeen office to:</p>

<ul>
<li>Provide lifecycle management of servers, networking, backups, continuity solutions, storage, telephony, and client hardware.</li>
<li>Ensures security certification requirements are met and infrastructure stays up to date via activities including patch management, scanning / remediation, inventory management / renewal and security hardening.</li>
<li>Manage configuration, producing and updating relevant documentation.</li>
<li>Provide support to the organisation at all levels, troubleshooting and following established procedures to resolve issues.</li>
<li>Provide a point of contact for business users and requires good communication and interpersonal skills.</li>
</ul>

<p>This would be an ideal opportunity for candidates with 2+ years experience in a similar infrastructure role.</p>

<p>This position requires the successful candidate to work from our Aberdeen office full-time so candidates should live within a commutable distance and be happy to perform their role within the office environment 5 days per week.</p>

<p><strong><u>Essential Experience, Qualifications and Competencies</u></strong></p>

<li>Degree in an IT subject or equivalent experience</li>
<li>Business IT experience in a comparable environment with knowledge of:

<li>Azure Active Directory / Active Directory</li>
<li>MS Windows Server / Desktop</li>
<li>Microsoft 365 - Security and Compliance</li>
<li>Storage Systems / Platforms</li>
<li>Microsoft Office products</li>
<li>Systems management and monitoring platforms</li>
</ul>

<li>Good change management.</li>
<li>Good interpersonal and communication skills with both IT and non-IT staff.</li>

<p>Key Areas of Responsibility:</p>

<ul>
<li>Develop and lifecycle manage IT Infrastructure & Operations in line with company needs, including server, network, and client software / hardware.</li>
<li>Comply with relevant infrastructure and security standards.</li>
<li>Monitor, optimise and troubleshoot infrastructure issues.</li>
<li>Maintain a high level of security for business data, software, equipment, and infrastructure.</li>
<li>Maintain IT Infrastructure documentation and related information tools such as wikis, inventories etc. </li>
<li>Undertake hands-on engineering work as part of infrastructure projects, maintenance work and incident support, including problem resolution.</li>
<li>Contribute as required to Continuity Management.</li>
<li>Work with Infrastructure & Operations team colleagues, the Business Systems team, wider business, and external resources to provide support as required, including problem management support, across all systems and services.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate records of hardware / software inventory, and licensing demand / availability.</li>
<li>Provide excellent customer service by understanding the business drivers, taking proactive action, and providing clear communication.</li>
<li>Participation in planning and execution of IT projects within budget and time constraints.</li>
<li>Stay current with technological advances.</li>
<li>Mentoring and education of infrastructure & operations personnel when required and where applicable.</li>
<li>Evaluation of new technologies and platforms to determine their applicability to solving business challenges and needs.</li>
<li>These duties will at times require you to work outside normal office hours and at different locations, including international branches.</li>
<li>Ensure all work is carried out is in accordance with Company Quality, Safety and HR Management systems.</li>
