Wood is recruiting for a Senior Offshore Energies Consultant Engineer join its Specialist Engineering and Consulting te am, focusing on managing and administering Specialist Engineering & Consulting (SEC) projects and studies in the offshore energies space comprising conventional O&G projects and the nascent developing Energy Transition markets including floating offshore wind, CCUS, H2, offshore electrification and other energy vectors.<br />

<b>The Role </b><br />
<br />
The Senior Consultant will work with the Business Manager to agree which outcomes have the highest priority in each phase of the project. They will initiate key project reviews with the Business Line Managers and will flag any risks for performance with the Business Manager and / or Study Sponsor.<br />
<br />
Within the project, the Senior Consultant is responsible for all commercial and technical decisions that are made, although they are expected to delegate appropriately, making use of the skills and experience of their team members. Where decisions present a risk to the agreed project objectives, the Senior Consultant shall consult with the Business Manager / Sponsor to ensure alignment.<br />

<li>Delivering projects and studies; manage risk relating to project/study execution in accordance with the contract terms and conditions and the project execution plan. Managing contract changes as they are arise and ensuring strong Client relationships, whilst still achieving study and Wood company objectives.</li>
<li>To identify and promote further business opportunities for Wood and support proposal preparation, business development and marketing activities within the team.</li>
<li>To provide technical excellence, guidance and support to developing engineers with potential for line management responsibilities.</li>
<li>The Senior Offshore Energies Consultant will be responsible for the execution of Projects and Studies (e.g. concept studies, feasibility assessments, and pre-FEED), demonstrating the following competencies:</li>

<li><b>Leadership and Collaboration </b> : Supports local leadership and contributes to direction and leadership for securing offshore energies business with inclusivity of wider business streams and business units across Wood. Motivates others to improve their performance. Takes a proactive role in managing and developing engineers.</li>
<li><b>Project Execution </b> : Agrees the Project Execution Plan and Quality Assurance Plan with the client in a timely manner. Takes responsibility for the schedule, resources, cost and profit, and monitors these to deliver a positive outcome for both the client and SEC. Maintains timely internal and external reporting in line with the contract and departmental procedures.</li>
<li><b>Customer Focus </b> : Creates a credible and professional image to internal and external customers and other stakeholders. Uses their knowledge and expertise to identify the difference between customer wants and their true needs. Takes a proactive approach to obtaining feedback from their clients.</li>
<li><b>Risk Management </b> : Understands the contract, sub-contracts and Non-Disclosure Agreements, and ensures the conditions in these are met throughout the work scope. Develops a Risk Matrix for the project and updates this regularly, recording the risk mitigation measures that have been taken. Ensures that team members visiting operating plants, suppliers&
39; works or construction sites are briefed on appropriate health, safety and environmental requirements and have appropriate protective equipment.</li>
<li><b>Commercial Understanding </b> : Clearly understands commercial drivers for a project and delivers technical / execution solutions to achieve commercial objectives for all stakeholders.</li>
<li><b>Continuous Improvement </b> : Reviews and implements lessons learnt from past studies. Identifies opportunities for wider collaboration with other Wood Service Lines or offices. Generates a precise End of Project Report, highlighting opportunities for improved performance on future studies.</li>
<li><b>Proposal Preparation and Business Development: </b> Lead or provide technical input to sales and proposal activities. Develop project execution plans, schedules and manpower plans at proposal review stage, and organise/ participate in review, when requested. Identifies opportunities for Wider Wood collaboration in future work phases and supports the development of Business Winning Strategies. Builds lasting and mutually beneficial relationships with clients for the long term financial benefit of Wood.</li>

<li>Experience across a broad range of offshore energies projects from conventional oil & gas through transition technologies.</li>

<li>Has worked on a range of scopes across different markets and understands the tools used and levels of detail required to support the a strong, coherent decision making process.</li>
