Overview of the opportunity: KPMG has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Server Administrator, with an emphasis on Linux systems and associated solutions (native, open source or 3rd party). In this role, you will analyze production systems to identify performance bottlenecks, optimization opportunities and will support internal users and applications used in our environment while working closely with other IT staff. What you will do Manage Server platform components for physical and virtual environment of 900+ servers. Proactively manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and associated open source and third-party services, Windows & Cloud server resources using performance monitors, profilers, custom scripts and third party tools. Proactively manage server resources such as PostgreSQL using Red Hat Satellite, performance monitors, profilers, custom scripts and third-party tools. Troubleshoot performance and integration issues related to servers, data and applications from tier 1 to tier 3. Develop and update documentation, including architecture diagrams, schema definitions and operating procedure manuals. Implement and maintain development, quality-assurance and test environments for development and version upgrade procedures. Maintain security framework requirements set forth by company and clients and in line with KPMG security practices Document configuration of all server instances and develop disaster avoidance and recovery plans. Develop, implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategy for all and systems. Troubleshooting connectivity and performance issues relating to servers and data enabled applications. Work closely with IT staff and personnel, as well as application support/consultant specialists. Other duties as assigned. What you bring to the role 5+ years of experience in technology industry supporting cloud and virtual environments such as Azure, AWS, VMWare, Citrix and MS HyperV with a focus on RHEL Redhat Linux. Experience and knowledge working with Storage Area Network such as EMC Unity, VNX and Brocade switch administration and management. Experience with Backup, Archiving and Disaster Recovery Technologies Working knowledge of Windows Server 2016 & 2019 system administration Knowledge interacting with .NET, C
, or other programming languages. Experience with parsing and scripting languages such as Powershell, VBscript, etc. Red Hat Certification such as the Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA®) and Azure certifications like the Azure Administrator Associate or equivalent Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technology problems. Excellent communication and customer service skills. ITIL V3/V4 Foundations Positive team-oriented attitude Keys to your success: Solid understanding of RHEL & Cloud systems administration.
