Plant Projects Support Engineering Senior Manager

Overview Job Purpose: Engineering role as subject matter expert on the Food process line & packaging equipment. The person will be the custodian of the specifications and the design of typical Food manufacturing system in company owned operations, with in-depth knowledge of the working/technology of each equipment. The proposed role will handle following areas of project governance and support to the 4 COSO plants. Review Capex prior to submission and align on the costing/budget Technical support to the plants in preparation of RFQ, DH scouting etc. Support review of the project progress with OEM’s (Original Equipment Manufacturer) For critical plant projects – Execution review; innovation/modification in the process lines in coordination with sector COE’s/MOS; Interface for plant to work with FMG (Iron-ore producer)/PGRE (real-estate investment trust) requirements; work with Central P&P team in meeting the sustainability projects etc. Responsibilities Accountabilities: To ensure that all technical expertise and technical advisory support to all the Food plants including Advisory support for trouble shooting on existing lines, debottlenecking of capacities, Plant utilities project and any productivity / sector driven projects. Provide technical SME expertise on Food process & packaging technologies. Project manage growth/productivity/Lens4 Capex initiatives (Brownfield) and execute as per PepsiCo requirements, in line with Capex budget & timelines in coordination with the Plant M&R teams. Ensure that overall, India Food engineering strategy is aligned with AMEA Sector strategy Develop Food technology “Best Practice” engineering solutions for lift/shift within India For Plant driven projects: Govern the process of scoping, design and preparation of CAR Govern the tendering of process/packaging scope of works Governance of Execute installation Governance of Commissioning prior to handover to manufacturing for product signoff. Governance of capex efficiency (localization/alternate vendor development/ capex cost reduction) drive/engineering system, Support and partnering alternate engineering vendor development in collaboration with the plant team, Sector Engg, R&D Central engineering support for NPD (new products) deployment in plant for equipment modification and plant equipment set up change. Partnering Technology Upgrade projects/ New tech deployment. Support capability building of India Foods engineering team Engage with Safety function on equipment safety requirements and ensure standards are met on investments. Qualifications KEY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 8- 10 years of Food process/packaging experience within Food/FMCG industry 5+ years Project management experience; preferably with mid to large scale investments of $20MM-$80MM range In depth engineering knowledge of multiple food technologies/platforms (i.e. potato chips, Extrusion, Baked engineered chips), primary/secondary packaging technologies, line controls/automation network solutions, warehouse automation technologies. General knowledge of civil, utilities, water & WWTP technologies. Strong international network with OEM`s. Expert in understanding and applying global PepsiCo Process / Packaging / Controls Engineering Specifications across all platforms. Equipped with hands-on skills and experience to execute detailed designs, PDI`s and engineering commissioning activities without any OEM support. Engineering/ Technical capability. Basic Controls and Automation knowledge Ability to work and modify ACAD technical drawings, Gantt charts and developing URS. Work with various stakeholders internally and externally like design consultants, Project Management consultants etc and ensure the quality of execution timely within the estimated cost. Weekly, monthly reporting of the project progress.
