Export Assossiate

The Export Associate position has functional responsibility for day-to-day screening of customers and transactions to ensure full compliance with Export requirement in various jurisdictions in accordance with Siemens Export Internal Control Program as well as applicable legislation requirements. Essential Functions · Screen transactions for compliance with all applicable export regulations – including review of end-use and end-users · Support during implementation and establishing Export Control Internal Control Program (ICP EX) and local working / process instructions (in close cooperation with Export Control Business Partner), · Support by implementing internal requirements based on national Export Control regulations · Support business by certain Export Control activities, · Communicate with Country Export Control Business Partner and escalate Export Control cases and complex questions, if required · Support on performing training sessions on Export Control topics · Support on evaluation of training needs in area of responsibility (ARE, Country, Division, etc.) · Perform ICP implementation status · Conduct spot checks and document them in MONA · Monitor remediation actions in MONA · Participate / support in reviews and internal / external audits, inform Export Control Business Partner and/or responsible Compliance Officer on all review/audit related topics · Complete / support remediation actions based on review / spot check / ICP implementation status results · Screen transactions for compliance with all applicable export regulations – including review of end-use and end-users, · Act as a Point of contact for certain transactions which may present export control risks · Communicate within the department to ensure consistency in Export compliance and facilitate harmonization of processes, methods and standards · Work with assigned business units to help business understand and meet export control obligations under applicable law and the Siemens Internal Control Program · Acts as trusted export advisor to the business and manages issues related to export compliance for assigned tasks · Work closely and respond, as appropriate, to questions from business stakeholders regarding export matters · Actively participates in project and process improvement initiatives, communicating progress and efficacy of initiative implementation Contributes to the completion of additional administrative tasks depending on the needs of the team and division Required competences · Basic understanding of laws and regulations in one's own area of responsibility (e.g., taxation law, insurance regulations, LoA process). Can identify basic needs for audit and control policies and practices · Can describe major activities performed by audit and control function. Familiar with audit and control requirements for own area. Can name audit and control related initiatives, key issues and expected benefits · Begins to identify potential ethical conflicts in one's own area of responsibility based on organizational and/or professional guidelines and raises to appropriate management · Begins to identify potential existence of unethical behavior or fraudulent activity in one's own area of responsibility and raises to appropriate management · Awareness of basic characteristics of good working relationships and need to maintain positive working relationships with associates · Aware of company's culture for interacting with others · Works effectively with immediate associates and management · Aware of own as well as others' roles and responsibilities. · Understands key messages of colleagues and customers/suppliers when they speak slowly and clearly · Reads, understands and answers simple messages in emails from colleagues and customers/suppliers · Uses finance specific vocabulary and functional language mostly correctly · Understands the overall issue and its components · Asks questions to understand the problem and the target state and describes deliverables · Understands and can identify own business priorities Required Experience and Education · Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, is fundamental · Alternative to a formal degree, the candidate must have 3+ years of experience in Export role · Experience following process in Export · Preferably has experience within a multi-national company environment Work Conditions This role can expect a normal office environment, with the potential for hybrid work according to individual arrangements and business needs Quarter-end and key project roll out periods often see requests to work extended hours, as well as circumstances requiring management support or back-up roles Weekends or holidays may be required in support of critical business needs At Siemens we are always challenging ourselves to build a better future.
