Solution Architect

Solution architects design or modify systems architecture to meet certain business needs. They test, integrate, and program software systems to ensure that specific business issues are solved. Responsibilities/Accountability Responsible for defining and documenting architecture, capturing and documenting non-functional (architectural) requirements, preparing estimates and defining technical solutions Responsible for specific architectural area or part of the architecture/solution. Collaborate with multiple business teams and stakeholders to arrive at technical and tactical decisions. Manages the activities right from Solution Design till implementation Review’s business context for solutions to company challenges as well as defining the vision and requirements for the solution, recommending potential options, (which may include RFIs, RFPs or prototype development), selecting the most optimal option, and the development of a roadmap for the selected solution. Communicates the architecture to the stakeholders and collaborates and coordinates with existing domain architects in the formalization and adoption of IT standards and procedure Directly assists in the development of a solutions architecture program including departmental roadmaps and project portfolios for IT systems architecture. Assists domain architecture team on solutions management and timing of financial spend for application solutions Develops and executes solutions which further reduce the percentage of time spent on reactive work. Mastery of Enterprise Architecture Frameworks (TOGAF) and application thereof. Experience in architecting solutions on Azure. Good understanding of and affinity with Integrated Oil & Gas industry is preferred. Leadership & negotiating skills: - ability to drive change using influence and networking. Ability to build a shared vision and able to communicate well Delivery-oriented with focus on results. Must be a doer with a hands-on attitude Organized and methodical. Ability to initiate, plan and develop according to plan while working with a degree of uncertainty Mastery of Data Architecture and Enterprise Architecture tooling such as Power Designer and Bizz design. Experience in software engineering and design architecture Comfortable with ambiguity and time spent outside of comfort zone acquiring new skills Experience of working with Agile Delivery teams and a knowledge of DevOps constructs.
