Site Name: UK - Hertfordshire - Ware Posted Date: Dec 14 2022 Full Time (We are open to discussions about Part Time Hours, Flexible Working or Job Share) At GSK’s flagship manufacturing site at Ware, we are now looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Utilities and Facilities team; to provide a single point of focus for the site’s Purified Water systems. Reporting to the Utilities and Facilities Operational Engineering Manager, the role holder will be accountable to the Engineering Duty Holder for the quality adherence, safety, compliance of Purified water generation and distribution systems campus wide. These systems are aligned to Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Research and Development and Laboratory facilities. We are looking for an engineer with a strong technical underpinning in water systems. We are undergoing an exciting period of change at Ware, as we integrate our R&D and Manufacturing Sites into the GSK Centre of Excellence for Development and Launch of Oral Solid Dose Small Molecule Medicines. Key Accountabilities (include): Act as the Engineering Technical Authority for GMP Water Systems and associated Infrastructure on site (ensuring documentation and validation reviews are conducted). Frequent interaction with Quality Practitioners and Regulatory bodies (via regulatory GMP audits and product market-specific audits). This includes preparing, presenting, interacting and fronting Technical Quality Audits. Representing the Utilities and Facilities team across root cause analysis of deviations, including collaborating with various departments (eg; Engineering, Quality, EHS and Production). Ownership of asset maintenance strategy on GMP Water systems and integrating Continuous Improvement techniques (looking to further integrate digital and data process analytics to optimize operational effectiveness of the plant). Responsible for ownership and authoring of engineering standards relevant to GMP Water Systems. Key Behaviours and Responsibilities (include): Ownership of relevant engineering standards. Generating technical improvements and project proposals, designs and plans to give optimum investment value to the site. Take ownership of the delivery of those planned engineering works (utilizing aligned resource from embedded service partners and trusted contractors). Leading Deviations (ensuring RCA Toolkit is utilized effectively). Coach and mentor the Utilities & Facilities (U&F) team (ensure capability and technical development aligns to operational requirements). Supporting the wider engineering team with facility expertise and experience to improve capability and knowledge. Developing and maintaining good working relationships with third party service partners and external specialist companies. Basic Qualifications / Experience Relevant experience / qualifications gained from working in a highly-regulated industry (GMP). Experience of providing technical expertise across an organisation. Preferred Qualifications If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: A Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering Discipline.
